What's Happening
Congratulations to our October Student of the Month- Tatiana Campos-Teixeira
An exchange student from Bolivia, Augusto Lora, shared his experiences so far at Lower Moreland High School. He added several differences between LM and educational practices at his home school.
Toys for Tots
Donating a Toy is one of the experiences that makes Marine Toys for Tots different from other programs. When you place a toy in a Marine Toys for Tots collection box you experience the joy of knowing that toy will be under the tree in a family's home and bring a smile to a less fortunate child Christmas morning. This gives our supporters a unique personal connection to Marine Toys for Tots.
Veterans Day Celebration
The High School was honored to have several veterans join us for a luncheon on November 11 th. We connected students with a military interest with those that have served and the result was a wonderful, engaging event.
Thank you to those that served and continue to serve.
Special thanks to all of our wonderful donors, volunteers, captains and more importantly dancers for making this charity fundraiser a massive success! All of the proceeds will go a long way towards battling pediatric cancer through the Four Diamonds.
Also, a former student came back and filmed the day. He has a videography company now and created this video for us:
NHS Fall Clean-Up
The Climate Reality Project
Guest Speaker: Jesse Lytle, the Chief Sustainability Officer at Haverford College, will be speaking to students about climate change on Wednesday, December 18th at 2:30 PM in the High School Library. All are welcome.

Yearbook Information
Parents of seniors, please pick your child's yearbook photo through Barksdale by December 15th. Remember, seniors receive a yearbook as part of their class dues, so there is no need to purchase one. You can, however, purchase a yearbook ad. The link for purchasing ads for seniors will be posted on the high school webpage.
Senior Portrait Make-Ups need to be scheduled by calling Barksdale at 1-800-220-7667. Please have these take before Thanksgiving to ensure that your yearbook photo is submitted.
Parents of underclassmen, you will soon be able to purchase a 2019-2020 yearbook for your child. The link for purchasing yearbooks will be on the high school webpage.
School Counseling Department
The School and College Counselors will be moving into the post-secondary planning process with juniors beginning on December 5th. Students will meet with counselors for a large group presentation on College Admission Testing, Research and Planning. Junior parents and guardians are invited to a presentation the same evening at 7:00 P.M. in the HS Library. Please refer to Important Junior Dates (attached) for additional programming information.
Please mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual Out of the Darkness Campus Walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. This year's walk will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2020. Students from Future Business Leaders of America and Interact Club will lead the effort in this incredibly important initiative. More details to follow.
AFSP provides a wealth of information regarding suicide prevention and awareness, including guidelines for parents: Teens and Suicide: What Parents Should Know If you have concerns about your child at any point in time, please reach out to your child's counselor for help and resources.
Interact Club:
Students from Interact Club just completed a highly successful food drive to benefit Philabundance. Students collected the Top 10 Most Needed Items from the generous LM community and personally delivered them to a local food pantry in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Interact students believe that every kind gesture can make a big difference. Thanks to all who donated!
