REOPENING MARCH 22!
THE DAY WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!
Please Practice Patience, Positivity, and Kindness
- every child, every day is connected,
- every child, every day is being challenged by new learnings and experiences,
- and every child, every day knows they have a champion they can turn to.
As we work out the kinks in our procedures, please be patient, positive, and kind. Multiple safety precautions have been added and it has been quite a while since we have had drop off and pick up. Not to mention that over 70 of our Cheetahs have never been on campus before!
Within the coming week, a procedures video will be shared that explains all the procedures and protocols.
Help Needed
Many of you have been asking how you can help with the transition to reopening schools. We have a wonderful opportunity for you. A temporary position to monitor symptomatic students until a parent/guardian picks them up has been posted on the livermoreschools.org website. It can be found under the security subheading and the hours are 8:00am - 12:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
The job of Yard Duty Supervisor was established for the purpose/s of providing support in the oversight of student safety and conduct on school property during assigned periods. Responsibilities include ensuring student behavior adheres to campus policies, assisting in the resolution or reporting of potential conflicts, and helping to maintain a safe environment for all students on campus.
More information can be found on the district website.
Orientation/Practice on Thursday, March 18
- Yard duty supervisor and staff members will be stationed in key areas around campus to direct students, just as they will every day.
- All students must wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth. Bandanas and gators are not allowed. Face shields should have cloth that can be tucked into the shirt or face shield with a mask. Masks will be provided to those that need one.
- If your daily routine is to walk/bike/scooter to school, please practice this on orientation day. There are two entrances available to you; one on Crestmont and the other at the front of the school. Upon entering campus, bikes and scooters must be walked to the bike rack. You can arrive anytime between 12:40-2:00. Students only will be allowed on campus and will be directed to their classrooms by Croce staff.
- If you typically arrive to school in a car, please practice the morning drop off procedure (see below). On campus parking will not be available. Parents must stay inside their cars.
- If your child is not able to unfasten a seat belt or open a car door, consider walking on to campus as we need to keep the valet line moving.
- ESS and CLC have been contacted. They will be conducting a dry run on Thursday at 12:40. They will be communicating their plan to you.
If you will be driving to school, use Sign-Up Genius to select an orientation/practice time. Please select one location (blue or green) based on the age of your youngest Croce child. All children from the car will exit together.
Daily Health Screener
Additionally, a Health & Safety Agreement must be on file in the office. Please download, print, and complete the form. Teachers will be expecting them. If you are unable to print at home, one will be provided to you.
Drop Off
- School gates and classroom doors will open at 8:25am.
- Gates along Mt. Hamilton (circle parking lot) will remain locked.
- Only students and staff are allowed on campus at this time.
- There will be no on campus parking during drop off or pick-up
- Students will proceed DIRECTLY to their classrooms up arrival with the help of Croce staff and clear directional signage.
To maximize social distancing, reduce congregating, and increase efficiency of drop-offs,
we have several options for families!
Bike/Scooter Riders: There are 3 entrances for you; follow the walking path along the valet entrance, use the Crestmont gate at the back of the field, or enter through the front gates. Regardless of which entrance is used, our Cheetahs will need to WALK their bike/scooter to the bike cage.
Walkers/Walking Buses: We HIGHLY encourage our Cheetahs to walk to school. It promotes health and is great for our environment. Consider forming a Neighborhood Walking Bus where parents take turns walking small groups of students to school. Walkers may enter through the front gates near the office or the gate along Crestmont Ave.
Valet: We will be trying something new at morning drop off. There will be TWO valet lanes! Please choose the lane that corresponds with the YOUNGEST Cheetah in the car. If you have a Kindergartner and a third grader, you will use the blue lane and both students will exit from the K/2nd grade drop off spot.
- Parents must stay inside their cars. Students must be able to get out of the car independently.
- Cheetahs will exit from the passenger side and stand next to the cone until instructed to move forward through the gates.
- Drivers are asked to follow the directions of the staff members who are directing traffic.
- Students will not be marked tardy for the first few weeks, as we tighten up our procedures.
PICK UP
Each family is assigned a unique Family ID, which you received in an email. A placard is to be hung on the vehicle's rear view mirror at pick-up. You will be provided with two blank tags. PLEASE WRITE YOUR FAMILY ID IN BOLD, LARGE PRINT on your tag.
Upon a parent's arrival to the school at 11:15, a dispatcher will enter the Family ID from your clearly displayed pick-up tag into an iPad. This sends the information to the classroom teachers. The student is then released. Please stress the importance of having your child/ren walk directly to the pick-up zone when the Family ID number pops up on the screen.
You will pull all the way forward in your colored lane and your child will be instructed to walk directly to your car.
Bike/Scooter Riders: Cheetahs will walk their bike/scooter through campus and exit through the same gate used in the morning.
Walkers/Walking Buses: Walkers will be dismissed from the MPR if being picked up in front of the school. Walkers who enter campus from Crestmont will exit through that same gate. Parents/Guardians will approach the MPR or Crestmont gate, provide their Family ID to the staff member on duty, and wait patiently for their Cheetah/s to be dismissed.
Recess
- All Cheetahs will have a 20 minute recess each day.
- Students must wear their masks during recess
- Students must stay with their stable groupings (their own classmates)
- Throughout the week, students will rotate between the field, fitness playground, basketball area, and purple playground.
Water & Snack
- Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle and snack.
- Hydration Stations are available.
- Boldly label all personal water bottles and snack boxes.
Chromebooks
