Dear LMS Nation parents/guardians,
Welcome to the school counselors' first newsletter of 2016! We're excited to bring you new information on what we're doing as a school. Lots of exciting things have been happening in the Nation. We hope you'll stay tuned for what's to come!

LMS Nation Cast - TV
In alignment with our school mission to have parents and the community play an active role in our students' academic education and character development, our Principal has created LMS Nation Cast - TV. Our Principal will be pairing up with the school counselors and other school personnel to provide information and resources on different topics throughout the year. We hope that these podcasts spark conversations about creating a safe and positive culture for our students.
Please visit http://lmsnationcasttv.blogspot.com/2015/11/blog-post.html to hear our first series on Internet and Technology Safety. In this broadcast you will hear some best practices to use with your child when it comes to online access.
The Great Kindness Challenge
Mark your calendars because you do not want to miss the Great Kindness Challenge. As a school we will be challenging ourselves to commit hundreds of acts of kindness throughout the week. In order to ensure this week leaves a lasting impact, we are challenging students to spread kindness in and out of school. Ask your child about the challenge cards they are given in school for this week. Those that complete their cards move on to the next level of Cardinal Kindness. School counselors will be in Cardinal Time classes throughout the week to teach a lesson on empathy. Overall this week should help students be more respectful, responsible, and ready.
