Principal Message
Dear Ride Families,
It is with mixed emotions that I share the news of my retirement at the end of this school year. This decision was not an easy one, but it was driven by a deep desire to spend more time with my loved ones. I have an aging parent who needs my care, two dogs who have been my faithful companions, and two great-nieces who are growing up so quickly. I want to be there for them and cherish these precious moments.
These moments are precious, and I feel some quality time will pass before I realize it.
After 39 years in education and 25 years at Sally K. Ride, I am proud to have had the privilege of contributing to this esteemed institution. The teaching and leadership experiences I've had here have been the best of my career. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities, experiences, and relationships I've built at Sally K. Ride Elementary. I want to express my sincere appreciation for your continued and dedicated involvement in your child's school. Your support has been invaluable to me. I am confident that you will carry on the positive traditions we've established here with the next fortunate principal!
As I embark on the next phase of my life, I am filled with optimism for the future of Sally K. Ride. I am confident that the school will continue to thrive under new leadership and with your unwavering support. I wish everyone the best in their future endeavors.
Have a great four-day weekend!
Sincerely,
Megan Burnham

Pre-K Share the Music
Mrs. Dimas put on a "Share the Music" event for Pre-K. She invited all the parents to come up to the school and participate in all the fun their child has during music class. The parents were so happy to spend time together in their child's element and the kids were overjoyed to show all they've learned to their parents. Thank you, Mrs. Dimas, for a such wonderful event!
It’s Book Fair Time
We will host a Book Fair on April 8th – 12th in the school library. During the week, the Book Fair is open from 7:30 – 3:00. We are open the evening of April 11th and April 12th for the second grade program and Ride Through the Decades. All purchases benefit our library and school.
Digital Payment Option for Book Fair
We have a great digital payment option that is highly encouraged for students to use. Parents can set up an eWallet for students, deposit money into it, and students will not have to bring money to school. Visit our Book Fair homepage at
https://www.scholastic.com/bf/sallykrideelementaryschool1
to open up an eWallet account for your child. Any left over money in the eWallet will be put on a gift card for your student to use at future fairs or online. If you have money left over from the last book fair, you can sign in to your ewallet and transfer the money to this book fair.

Lunch Sign-Up
Due to limited seating in the cafeteria, we are offering two options for lunch signups. You will have the opportunity to sign up to eat in the cafeteria with your child or outside in our gazebo/picnic table area. You will not be able to change locations after signup is complete. If you sign up to eat outside and it rains, you will be unable to move into the building due to limited seating. You may sign up for another day/time.
Each slot is available for two adults and the child you are eating lunch with..
Please see the schedule below for designated grade level lunch visitor’s days. Make sure that you sign up under the correct time slot for your child’s lunchtime. Each student may have two visitors every 3-4 weeks. This ensures every parent has an opportunity to sign up. Remember to bring a valid id when you visit the building.
Due to limited seating in the cafeteria, we are asking all parents with small children to eat outside in the gazebo area.
