1984 Reflection
"Until (the proles) become conscious they will never rebel, and until they have rebelled they cannot become conscious."
This quote is huge in the book 1984 by George Orwell because it signifies the current situation that all proles face in this society. The proles have two choices. The first one being to rebel and make an attempt to overthrow the overpowered government. The second option is to let the government walk all over them like they are worth nothing. The proles do not overthrow the government and decide that staying below the radar is more efficient. If the proles would of choose to rebel, the story would of had more of a spicy/suspenseful ending to it. This quote was so significant because it shaped the plot of 1984.
