Week of December 19
We have completed our last week of classes before we begin semester exams on Monday. It is hard to believe we are halfway through this school year! Please be sure to check the semester exam schedule listed below as well as the full description of our exam policies. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our main office.
Just a reminder, there will be no school Thursday, December 22-Tuesday, January 3. We look forward to welcoming all students back on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 for an amazing second semester! We hope this time off brings you rest and relaxation with your families and those you love.
Happy Holidays from Big Walnut High School!
Semester Exam Schedule
Semester Exams are here! So that families may plan accordingly, here is our semester exam schedule for the 2022-2023 school year. Following the exam period each day, we have a lunch period and then time set aside for individual instruction and exam make-up.
Please note:
- Students are expected to attend their exams on the assigned date at the assigned time. Rescheduling an exam requires permission from the adminstration and is done sparingly.
- Buses will run on a normal schedule. Students wishing to ride the bus home must stay in school the entire day. Those students who are able to arrange their own transportation may leave after their last exam of the day.
Seniors Earning the Ohio Means Jobs Seal
Any senior who is earning the OhioMeansJobs seal for graduation needs to have their paperwork submitted to the School Counseling Office by this Wednesday, December 21. Please see your counselor if you have any questions!

BWHS Academic Boosters
Academic Boosters - who are we? We are a group of organized parents who provide support to help improve the academic experience for all students, parents, and staff at BWHS. We provide An Evening of Excellence in September to recognize sophomores, juniors, and seniors who earned a 3.5 GPA the previous year. We sponsor the annual Academic and Military Signing in the spring for graduating seniors who have been offered college scholarships and graduating seniors who have enlisted in Military Services. Students who earn a 5 on their AP exam receive a High Five yard sign provided by and delivered to their home by members of the Academic Boosters. Our staff at BWHS is crucial to the success of our students and the academic booster parents show them just how much we appreciate them by providing a few very small tokens of appreciation during staff appreciation week in April. We have many other ideas of ways we can expand and continue to support the academic efforts of our students and staff! We are looking forward to a productive and fun year!
Meetings are typically at 6:30pm on the second Monday of each month. (No December meeting.) This year, our meetings are as follows: 1/9, 2/6, 3/13, 4/3, and 5/8.
