Message From Dr. Otway
Exciting News: Full Implementation of Friday House Uniforms!
Dear College Park Elementary Families,
We hope this message finds you well. As part of our continuous efforts to enhance the sense of belonging and camaraderie within our school community, we are thrilled to announce a significant update to our uniform policy. Starting October 13, 2023, we will be going full-steam ahead with the implementation of our House System for Friday uniforms.
In an effort to further encourage school spirit and unity among our students, each child will be provided with a school House T-shirt, courtesy of College Park Elementary. These House T-shirts are designed to represent the four pillars of our House System:
🖤 Altruismo (House of Givers) - Black
❤️Amistad (House of Friendship) - Red
💚Isibindi (House of Courage) - Green
💙Rêveur (House of Dreamers) - Blue
The introduction of House T-shirts aims to foster a sense of pride, teamwork, and belonging within each House. It will also allow our students to easily identify and support their House, both during school events and House competitions.
Here are a few key details regarding the House T-shirts and their implementation:
1. **Distribution**: Your child will receive their House T-shirt this week on the 12th & 13th.
2. **Wearing Schedule**: Starting on October 20, 2023, students are encouraged to wear their House T-shirts every Friday. This will be a fantastic way for your child to actively participate in the House System and showcase their House pride. Each student, PreK-5th grade and staff earn points for their house when in uniform.
3. **Additional Attire**: While the House T-shirt is the centerpiece, students should continue to wear their regular school uniforms from Monday through Thursday, as per our existing policy.
We genuinely believe that this update will further enrich the sense of community and belonging within our school. It is with your support and enthusiasm that we embark on this exciting journey. As always, if you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to reach out to the school office.
Thank you for your continued support of College Park Elementary. We look forward to seeing our students proudly sporting their House colors and contributing to the vibrant House spirit within our school.
Warm regards,
Dr. Maisha N. Otway

Peek Into Princeton's Den
We took a deeper dive into literacy at our K-5 Literacy Night. Scholars and their families were able to interact in engaging movie-themed literacy lessons & activities. Our Golden Tigerettes Cheer & Dance team performed for the very first time and got the crowd hyped by using our school anthem for Literacy Night.
Eryn, our very own 5th grade superstar, had the chance to meet the one and only Hip Hop Artist Main Event, who penned our beloved school anthem, "Tiger Dreams." 🎤🐅
Eryn and Main Event enjoyed the front-row view as the Golden Tigerettes Cheer & Dance team kicked off their season in style with the debut of "Tiger Dreams." 🐾💃
Our hearts are bursting with gratitude for the unwavering support of our school and the entire local community. Your presence and talents make an immeasurable difference, strengthening our sense of pride and belonging!
Let's continue to shine and roar with school spirit together!
