Rocket Review
Week of February 14, 2020
Happy Valentine's Day!
Our Morgan students finished a busy few weeks with some fun in the classroom today. Our third grade students finished their annual Post Office experience this week as well, learning how a letter goes from writing, to mailing, to sorting, to delivery. Now we can all take a break and relax a bit.
Whether you are staying close to home this week or traveling to warmer weather, remember to have your child do some reading (reading on a tablet app like Kindle counts too) and perhaps write about their experiences through journal or supervised blog. While I will be working throughout next week, I already have two books lined up for some home reading in the evening when my schedule is not a busy.
Enjoy the time with your kids during the break and find some special activities to do together. Our children will remember the time you spend with them more than anything else as they grow up. Whether it is a trip to the DIA, walk in the local parks, skating at The New Rink (see information below), a game of bowling. reading a story together, watching a movie, or playing a family game, your children value your attention and interaction with them. The best stories we hear when kids return from break are usually about family time.
Have a good week,
Mrs. Lasky

Eisenhower NHS Tutoring
Parents may register their students by submitting a request located on our website:
http://ikenhs.weebly.com/eagle-tutoring.html.
This will allow us to prepare adequate tutors for each subject matter. We ask that parents complete the form by Sunday night each week in order to allow us to organize the correct number of NHS students.
Their goal is to provide a safe and productive environment for both students needing help and our NHS members offering their service. Additionally, a staff member will be on site every week checking in registered students and monitoring the sessions.
Looking for Lunch Monitors!
Tuesday and Wednesday are in NEED!
If you would be interested in helping in the lunchroom, please fill out a lunch monitor application with EduStaff. A link to the application can be found below. You will need to create an account, enter your information, complete some online training modules, and have a background check with finger prints. Then you can work as many lunch days as you would like and be paid for your help!
Several of our lunch monitors also complete additional training in EduStaff to serve as substitute paraprofessionals in our building. If you are interested in becoming a substitute paraprofessional, please use the EduStaff application process below.
If you have questions about becoming a lunch monitor or the online process, please contact Melissa Roth in our main office at 586-797-5800.
