May Greetings!
Kindergarten - 6th Grade Newsletter
Hello Parents and Guardians,
Sunshine and flowers are headed our way in May! This is normally a time of special events, fieldtrips, field days and other learning opportunities. While we are not able to replicate all of those events, staff members are working hard to plan ways to give students things to look forward to in May. Keep an eye on classroom newsletters and websites to stay updated on special events!
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week and I have never been more impressed with the creativity and dedication of teachers than I am this year! As we work through challenges posed by COVID 19, our teachers and paraprofessionals employ a "We can do this!" attitude that is impressive. An opportunity for students and families to thank educators is outlined below. Feel free to use your own idea too!
Superintendent Search timeline:
- Tuesday, May 5th - Finalist Interviews at 5:30. Link can be found on K-W district website

Friday, May 1st and Monday, May 4th are planning days for teachers. Students do not have any school obligations those two days. (**Monday meal delivery/pick-up will continue as scheduled, even though there are no classes) Classes resume on Tuesday, May 5th for the remainder of the month.
Starting on Tuesday, Book Boxes will be available in the entryway at each site to return library books that your child has already read. You may return books to either site and we will get them sent to the correct school. Thank you for partnering with us to make this spring the best it can be!

Teacher Appreciation Opportunity!
An easy video program called Flipgrid is a great option to give your teacher a 'shout-out". The link below will take you to the instruction page. There are three "topics" under the heading of KW EDUCATOR APPRECIATION. Please find the level appropriate for your child (Elementary, Middle or High School) and record your video. Press the green + button, record a short (no more than 1.5 minutes) video telling your designated person what you appreciate about them and submit it. But shhhhhh! Don't tell your teacher. We are hoping to surprise them!
