Eric Litwin
The author visit went great today! Eric Litwin was a great performer. He did stories and a lot of music. He did a presentation to our PK-2, and then our 3-6.
PK-2 was what I expected. He did several stories and songs, many of which were familiar. The smallest got a little antsy with the 45 minute timeframe, but he really kept them engaged. He overlapped a bit on his presentation for the 3-6, but it was definitely geared more to them. He did do 4 Groovy Buttons with them, and they went ballistic. They were really into it. He also told them a ghost story full of laughs and a couple of legitimate jump-scares. He even sprinkled in some jokes aimed at the grown-ups, which was fun.
His focus was really on getting kids engaged with language and encouraged them to become active readers. I highly recommend him! Here's a picture of me onstage as a professional page turner. 😊
Please let me know if you are interested. I have already reached out for Auburn so please let me know if you want more information.
Thanks Jen Westover for sharing her Banned Books Week activities!
