Paragraph 3 (Duties & Responsibilities)
As an anesthesiologist, you have a lot of responsibilities. One of the first things you need to do is evaluate the patient before surgery so you can decide how much of what anesthesia you need to give the patient. After deciding what anesthesia they need you will need to explain the procedure that is taking place and the risks that come with it. Once in the procedure room you will need to put the patient under the anesthesia before the surgeon begins the procedure. You have to make sure that you give the patient the right amount of the anesthesia because if you don't give the patient enough medicine they could wake up during surgery. If you give the patient too much anesthesia they could overdose and possibly die. While in surgery it is the anesthesiologist's job to manage critical life functions such as breathing, heart-rate, blood pressure, ect.
