High Interest Day!
Washington Families,
Our highly anticipated High Interest Day will be held on Friday, April 27th sponsored by the Washington PTA. On this day all Washington students participate in activities that are different than our normal academic learning. We have presenters from all over the Milwaukee area come to teach students how to dance, play field hockey, become a journalist and even decorate a cake to name a few.
Do you have a special talent you think students would enjoy; knitting, yoga, making ice cream or pizza? These are just a few things that we would love to have our students try. If not, maybe you know someone you think might be interested in presenting to our students on this day.
If you would like to present to our students fill out this form so we can contact you with more information.
Thank You,
The High Interest Day Team

Please read the parking reminders for drop-off and dismissal below:
NEVER stop on the East side of 68th Street. There is NO stopping or parking on the East side of the road.
Do not park where you see orange traffic cones.
Only use the three (15 minute) parking spots at the corner of 68th Street/Garfield Avenue. Cars should NEVER be parked or stopped on the East side of 68th Street near the front door.
DO NOT turn around in our neighbors' driveways. Be patient and go around the block.
IF you are using the hug and go on 67th Street, do not leave your car. Stay in your car and a staff member will call your child down.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Girls on the Run- Registration opened February 1. There are still some spots open if you are interested in having your daughter participate. You can register at https://www.girlsontherunsoutheasternwi.org/. Girl on the Run is open for 3rd-5th graders. Practice will be Tuesday and Thursday after school. For additional questions Chirstie Guertin (clrussell@uwalumni.com).
Timberwolf Trot- Our largest fundraising will be kicking off in just a few short weeks-March 22nd. Please get your list started of family and friends you will be sharing your students fundraising page with. Without this fundraiser the PTA would not be able to support so many wonderful things at Washington: Artist and Resident Program, New Kiln Audio Visual for the Gym and The Amazing Makers Space. We can do this again this year Washington when we work as a team and collect pledges.
Do you have a company that would like to be promoted? We would love to hear from you as we are looking for any donations to use as incentives or sponsorships towards the Trot. Contact: Laura Geisler (lgeisler28@gmail.com) or Denise Van Cuyk (Denisevancuyk@gmail.com). Also, please check with your companies HR department to see if they do a company match-double those dollars you bring in.
Do you want to dance? Our 1st ever Glow Dance Party is going to be held on Friday 4/13. Look for information on Facebook and weekly updates. Volunteers will be needed so spread the word about this family fun event!
