January Students of the Month
East Providence Students of the Month
Each month, every department at East Providence High School will nominate a student who exemplifies our Vision of a Graduate. These students have made great strides in these six areas to become contributing citizens of the East Providence community. Congratulations to our January Students of the Month!
Ava Nunez
Ava works at a local nursing home. She knows a woman there who only speaks French and felt that she was lonely. She suggested that we make the woman holiday cards in French class. She organized the students and each one wrote a letter about themselves in French and made a card for the woman. Ava, then brought the cards to the woman at the nursing home.
Malachi Heggs
Malachi Heggs has demonstrated a very strong Growth Mindset and is dedicated to making positive change in his academic and personal growth. He has shown outstanding dedication and maturity this academic year and has a clear focus on his success as a student at EPHS, and beyond.
Kloey Iacavone
Kloey is an extremely dedicated student who goes above and beyond to be an ambassador for the Forensic Program. She has competed in the CSI Skills USA competition both freshman and sophomore years placing 3rd in one of those competitions. She has volunteered her time to be at open houses to promote the program as well as be the program representative at both the Martin and Riverside middle school visits.
Blessing Rich-Turner
Blessing is an active member of the classroom, helping her classmates, and encouraging them. She arrives each day with a great smile and a positive attitude. Her infectious energy brightens the classroom and motives everyone in the room. These qualities help her to succeed even when she faces challenges. She is a great example for those around her!
Justin L Petion
Justin is a pleasure to have in class. He always has as mile on his face and works hard even though class is first thing in the morning. Justin is a model for all other PE students.
Reibert Manlapaz
Reibert is always willing to go on field trips and take adventures that he is unfamiliar with. He went on a boat and caught crabs with us under rocks in Narragansett Bay. He put on waders and caught macroinvertebrates in Willett Avenue pond. He held a seining net and caught fish in the water at Sabin Point Beach. He is always willing to jump into experiences even when he's not sure if he's going to do well or not. He also does wonderful, meticulate work in class- whether it be projects on paper or online. Although he barely speaks, Reibert is definitely a wonderful candidate for Student of the Month
