~ These two individuals organized two groups that fought for farmworkers. In California they went on strike in order to get union recognition, increase their wages and better benefits. Do to the fact that many employers would not listen to their demands, Chavez started a boycott of table grapes. Citizens stopped buying grapes and later on Chavez started a hunger strike, after this the employers noticed how badly it was affecting their industries and finally increased wages and working conditions became better.
