Autism Awareness Activities
Friday April 1st
- Wear Autism Awareness shirt to show support
- Show video, My name is David [4:15], to students after morning announcements,
- School of Fish: We Swim Together (Fish display around Library)
Week 1 (April 4th-9th )
- Make Autism Bookmarks (instructions to follow)
Week 2 (April 11th- 15)
- Make puzzle piece posters (each class creates their own facts about Autism and post in main hallway).
Week 3 (April 18th-23rd)
- Read aloud books on Autism in your classroom
Week 4 (April 25th -29th)
- Game, video, and conversations about Autism with occur during PE

Math and Science Focus Wall
In math we are representing data on a frequency table, dot plot, or stem-and-leaf plot marked with whole numbers or fractions. We will also continue solving one and two-step problems using data in whole, decimal, and fraction form with a frequency table.
In science we are discussing forces affecting Earth’s surface, and soil. This includes how landforms are created and changed by weathering, erosion, and deposition, as well as the properties of soil and its ability to retain water and support growth.
ELA and Social Studies
Reading:
We have now have access to Istation! This is a great program for your child to use at home and at school. They have been given their login information and the link is below.
Content: I will determine compare/contrast two different passages.
Language: The Student Will demonstrate comprehension through shared reading/retelling/responding/notetaking.
Homework: Passages will come home for now on without questions, students are to use strategies to analyze the passage. The next day in class the student will be given the questions to complete.
