"I Have a Dream" - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
On a day like today, it is not only important that we reflect on the life lessons Martin Luther King Jr. taught us, but also to reflect that in our schools and in our communities we continue to empower students to live that dream. This attention and focus should not and does not only occur during this week or this month. Our attention and focus on social justice, civil rights, and empowering voices is on-going.
Here are 4 powerful quotes from Dr. King’s wise words:
"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'"
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
"If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way."
"We have flown the air like birds and swum the sea like fishes, but have yet to learn the simple act of walking the earth like brothers."
