9th Grade Registration for Maple Grove Senior High!
Greetings, and welcome to the Crimson Class of 2028!
We are very excited to begin preparations to welcome the Crimson Class of 2028 to Maple Grove Senior High! The purpose of this message is to share with incoming 9th grade families the support available to you and your student(s) during the registration process for the 2024-25 school year.
First, students have received basic registration information through their middle schools this week. Our counselors will follow-up with an in person visit to Osseo Middle School on Wednesday, January 24 and Maple Grove Middle School on Friday, January 26 to introduce themselves, present about high school life, answer questions, and finalize their 9th grade course selections through StudentVUE. Your student received the following:
welcome letter, which includes a section for Frequently Asked Questions,
graduation planning worksheet to help students tentatively map out a four-year plan,
list of 9th grade elective options, and
9th grade registration course card to assist them with selecting their courses.
Please connect with your student to see these materials (electronic copies are available on our registration website)!
Second, we invite you to attend our Registration Conference at Maple Grove Senior on Thursday, January 18 (via the main entrance at Door A). Families and students can meet school leadership, teachers, case managers, and counselors, tour the building, learn about core academic areas and electives, visit our College and Career Resource Center, and get any registration questions answered. A formal registration presentation (approximately 30 minutes in length) will occur at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium, led by our counselors. Topics will include:
- graduation planning related to college and/or career aspirations,
- how to pick classes best aligned with student interests,
- a review of graduation requirements, elective course offerings,
- tips for success in high school and the difference between regular and accelerated course offerings.
To best accommodate all families, please arrive at the following times according to your student’s last name if you are interested in hearing the presentation:
4:00 p.m. Students with last names A–J
6:00 p.m. Students with last names K–Z
Families who have been through the registration process with older siblings may drop in anytime between 4:00–8:00 p.m. to meet with teachers, ask questions, and tour the building. All final course selections for incoming 9th grade students are due by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, January 26 (click here for step-by-step directions).
For more information and resources, please view our registration website.
Thank you, and welcome to the Crimson Family!
