The Nurse
People should have some type of mom figure in their life.
Act 1, Scene 3
The Nurse is very close to Juliet and in the book, Romeo and Juliet the Nurse is talking to Lady Capulet about how well she knows Juliet's age, "Faith, I can tell her age down to the hour."The Nurse almost knows Juliet better than her own mother does.
Act 1, Scene 3
In this quote from The Nurse she is speaking to Lady Capulet and Juliet about her wish to see Juliet get married before she dies. "Thou wast the prettiest babe that e'er I nursed. An I might live to see thee married once I have my wish." This relates to the theme because the Nurse is expressing how she would love to see the baby that she nursed for so long grow up and get married.
Act 3, Scene 3
"Even so lies she, blubbering and weeping, weeping and blubbering stand, an you be a man." (5) Says the Nurse to Friar Lawrence about how upset Juliet is about Romeo. This relates to the theme is because the Nurse is doing everything that she can do to help out Juliet with Romeo since her parents don't know.
Theme: Act 4, Scene 5
"alas, alas.... my lady's dead! O well-a-day, that ever I was born!"...
"Ome, Ome! My child my only life," (1-2) The Nurse's reaction to Juliet's death was much more dramatic than Lady Capulet's because the Nurse is closer to Juliet than Lady Capulet.
