The Future of Education
Richard Baraniuk is the Founder and Director of Connexions, an innovative platform in Open Content that provides quality information, books, and course notes for topics ranging from Arts to Science and Technology. In an interview with Forbes magazine, he discusses his vision for the future of education. Baraniuk envisions a system in which "the only limit to a person's learning would be his or her educational aspirations." This equality in education can be achieved through the innovation and improvement of open content. Students will no longer be restricted in what or how they learn, which will vastly improve the quality of their education. The learning gap will close, and access to free textbooks and course material will save higher education students millions of dollars. To reach these goals, it will take a collaborative effort between students, educators, producers and technologists.
