Dear Midland Families,
I want to thank you for attending your child’s conference this past week. We had about 90% of our families in attendance. It was great to see you in the building and on-line and to hear about the great work that your child has done this year. I continue to be so proud of our Mustang students and staff for the excellent work that happens at Midland every day!
It's not too late to sign up for the Summer Learning Program. You can enroll your child by visiting our district website: https://www.fpschools.org/2021-learning/summer-learning.
As we are winding down the year, we still have important work to do until the last day of school on June 22nd. This is also a time for fun and special school events. We hope you will come to our fun Reverse Drive-through Parade on June 10th from 4:30-6:00pm. It will be a "fun in the sun" event and we are giving away treats and books!
On June 17th and 18th we will be collecting all outstanding laptops, cords, and textbooks. Please be prepared for your student to bring these items back to school, unless you are still remote only. Remote learners may keep your laptops until the last day of school and then return them. More information coming soon.
Finally, a grateful THANK YOU to our service members and their families as we observe Memorial Day. We remember that all gave some and some gave all for our country. Thinking especially about those who have lost someone in our armed forces this week.
It's great to be a MUSTANG!
~Dr. Paula Dawson

Registration for the 2021-22 School Year:
Registration for new students enrolling in the 2021-22 school year is now open. We will be registering only new kindergarten through 5th grade students who live within our attendance boundaries, or have daycare in our area. Current students are automatically enrolled for next year, with the exception of overload students who will return to their home schools for 2021-22. To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be five years of age by August 31, 2021. All registrations will be done on-line at www.fpschools.org . Click on the red "Enrollment" circle, then click "Enroll for 2021-22", and complete the registration paperwork. Enrollees must attach a copy of your child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residence during the registration process.
Midland wants to STOP Covid at the door!
Just a reminder that you need to complete a health screening questionnaire EVERY morning by 8:30 am. This survey will come to your email, but you can also set it up to be sent as a text to your phone, for easy completion. If you have not filled out the form, your child will not be allowed to enter class until we have heard from you to answer questions, and have your child's temperature taken. Please see the button below for specific information regarding the Daily Health Check, as well as what to do if you are having trouble receiving the email.
PLEASE do your part before school, so that your child can go to class when they arrive.
- Students will be required to wear a mask on the bus, in the halls, in class, and at recess.
- Students will wash hands and use hand sanitizer throughout the day.
- Students will sit 6 feet apart in the classroom.
If your child has been exposed to COVID, or if they are showing symptoms of illness, you may not send them to school until they have been quarantined and symptom free for 14 days. Teachers will provide work for students during this time. We are counting on everyone to keep Midland safe for all students and staff. Thank you!
Midland PTA Needs YOU!
The PTA is a group of parents and family members who meet for an hour once a month. They create ideas for activities and provide support to our classrooms. PTA can be a very FUN opportunity! While the past few years we have focused on fundraisers, it woud be great to have more familiy activities and celebrations. We want to focus on more family involvement and non-traditional events which celebrate cultures and supports for families.
If you are interested, please email Mrs. Dawson (pdawson@fpschools.org) or call the school office. Training is provided and there is lots of support for our PTA.
Thank you in advance for considering how you can participate and keep our PTA!
