Parent/ Community Survey
Thank you to all the families who have responded. If you have yet to do so we ask that you take a moment to complete an anonymous survey to share your opinions about your experiences in USD this school year which will give us important feedback as we plan for the future.
We believe in listening to and learning from all of our students, staff and families as to what we do well to support our students and areas we need to grow as a District. Your perspective matters, and you have the opportunity to provide your feedback through our USD Perception Survey. Your feedback will allow us to reflect on the great work we do together for our students and the areas we may need to refine.
The survey will close this Friday, March 15, 2024. Parents/guardians with multiple children may submit the survey for each child.
Highlighting Oster Pride: PBIS in Action
Oster Students Making a Difference...Go Cougars!
We are excited to report that Oster students collected more than 1140 pairs of socks, some are still coming in. WOW! A BIG Thank you to the Oster students and Parent Community. The socks are being donated to families through Sacred Heart Community Services. Way to show Cougar Pride!
Thank you for making our school’s Scholastic Book Fair the Best Fair Ever!
Dear Oster Families,
Thanks to your efforts and enthusiasm, we sold over $19,438, an Oster record! That means we will have approximately $8,000 available to purchase new books for our library. We’d like to give a huge thank you to our amazing volunteers. We had a fantastic turnout this year, which made the whole process stress-free and enjoyable. We’d also like to thank our amazing 5th grade helpers! We couldn’t do it without you!
If your child missed the Fair, there’s still time to shop. Our Book Fair will continue online through March 17. Every online purchase also directly benefits our school.
Click here to shop our school’s Fair online.
I hope to see you and your child at our next Fair. Until then, happy reading!
It’s SHOWTIME!
Starting Arts and Oster HSC present Willy Wonka Jr. April 4th and 5th! Come enjoy a great show and support your fellow Oster students!
Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr. follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these
tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four
of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is a likable young lad
named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable
grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka’s rules in the factory - or suffer
the consequences.
Visit: https://OsterWonka.eventbrite.com to purchase your tickets.
We have 2 casts. So if you want to see your friends, make sure to find out what cast they
are in.
Blueberry Cast: Thursday April 4th at 7:30pm and Friday April 5th at 5pm
Marshmallow Cast: Thursday April 4th at 5pm and Friday April 5th at 7:30pm
HSC Needs Volunteers for (almost) ALL Positions for 2024/2025
Do you enjoy all of the Home & School Club supported enrichment events, activities and programs? Do you want them to continue? We need YOU! HSC needs volunteers for next school year to fill almost all of our Board positions along with MANY event, program and activity leads. For more details on positions, click here.
What are the qualifications? Simple: 1) you must care deeply about your Oster student(s), teachers & staff and, 2) be willing to dedicate some of your time and talent to fostering the Oster Community.
You may be wondering… how much time? As much or as little time as you can give!
You may also be wondering… what if I don’t know what I’d be good at? Ask us! We can match you to a great fit!
Finally, you may be wondering… why do I need to reach out now? Having overlap between existing volunteers and new will create continuity and make everyone’s job easier! New board members and leads will want to spend their time creating a great 2024/2025 and that is best achieved when you get started early! Email VPHSC@osterhsc.org to learn more or offer your time and talents.
4th and 5th grade family volunteers needed for Frozen Friday
A favorite Oster Tradition, Frozen Friday, happens each week! Stop by after school on Fridays outside the cafeteria to purchase a frozen treat and hang with friends! All treats are $1 or $2. Small bills are appreciated or we can take ApplePay! OR, purchase a Frozen Friday Card here.
Did you know that starting with this new year, Frozen Friday is a Science Camp fundraiser (goal is to raise $6,000 each year, a BIG help to our 5th grade families). We are looking to you, 4th and 5th grade parents and guardians to volunteer - sign up here! Volunteering to help with Frozen Friday is a great opportunity to get involved with HSC and only takes an hour or so on Friday afternoon! And, if your 5th grader wants to help sell, they are welcome to fill a volunteer slot. Again, please sign up TODAY.
We are also looking for a new lead for this year and next. Again, all money raised goes to reduce the cost of Science Camp to our 5th grade families. If you are interested, please email: covphsc@osterhsc.org.Earn Cash for Oster's HSC Programs
For over 25 years, Box Tops for Education has given families an easy way to earn cash for schools — with products they already buy! Today, you can find hundreds of participating products throughout the store. Scan your receipt with the Box Tops app and you’ll earn for your school with every Box Tops product you buy.
To use eScrip, there isn’t one special card, but rather it’s activated by registering store club cards, loyalty cards and community cards for grocery and drug stores, and by registering the credit cards and debit cards that you use when you shop.
