What is the drug?
Heroin in a highly addictive drug derived from morphine. It looks like a white of brown powder, containing tar-like substance. Heroin is an opiate, and can act like a depressant.
Slang terms:
- Horse
- smack
- H.
Effects:
Short term:
- " rush"
- slowed breath
- nausea and vomiting.
- coma or death.
Long term:
- Throwing up
- risk of HIV
- Cant breathe.
Statistics:
- An estimated 13.5 million people in the world use opium.
- In 2007, 93% of the world’s opium supply came from Afghanistan.
- The 2007 National Survey on Drug Use and Health reported 153,000 current heroin users in the US in 2007.
What can happen:
Heroin can give you HIV/AIDS, and your veins can collapse, and effects to the heart.
