Junior Prom - IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!
The Junior Class Cabinet has been working hard to plan the annual Junior Prom. The Dance will take place on Saturday April 27th in the CASH cafeteria. The cost of tickets will be $75.00 per person and will be available for purchase on the Hometown App, beginning April 8th. Ticket sales will continue until Friday, April 19th.
The ticket price includes a full buffet dinner and dessert, unlimited access to the London Photo booth, dancing, and any fees imposed by Hometown.
Juniors who wish to attend the dance must complete the registration form on the Family ID portal. You cannot purchase a ticket until this form is completed and approved. Once your form has been approved students will be issued a passcode via email that grants them the ability to purchase a single dance ticket. All juniors are reminded that you must be a student in good standing here at CASH to purchase a ticket to the dance. This means that you have no obligations for Chromebooks, textbooks, athletic equipment, or parking tickets, etc. and that your paperwork with Nurse Lindelow is up to date. You also should have no outstanding discipline issues.
***Any Junior who would like to bring a guest from another school should complete a Family ID registration for themselves and for their guest. They must also complete a hard copy of the guest form. These forms must be filled out and your guest approved by CASH administration before you can purchase a ticket for your out-of-district guest. Forms are available in the CASH Main Office and are due back by Friday April 12th. Once your form has been approved you will receive a passcode that will enable you to purchase your date’s dance ticket during the lunches the week of April 15th. Out-of-district guests to the dance must have a signed permission slip, be under the age of 21 on April 27th and have a photo ID.***
CASH students visit the Federal Reserve Bank
Students from Mrs. McKim's AP Macroeconomics class and Mrs. Staab's DECA club recently visited the United States Federal Reserve Bank in Philadelphia to view the Money in Motion Exhibit. This permanent exhibit at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia employs advanced presentation technology and interactive displays. The exhibit is a wonderful place to learn the story of central banking in the United States. Student were also able to:
- Trace the changes in our national currency from the early 1600s to today. View money from the original 13 colonies. Examine a rare $100,000 bill.
- Test skills at operating a bank by correctly answering questions that advance you from trainee to investment manager.
- Listen to a futuristic teller describe the payment system.
- In addition, marvel at a 25-foot tower of shredded bills totaling $100 million. Examine a currency cart representing $1,350,000 in $5 bills.
- Test skills at detecting counterfeits and learn about the new security features on the latest currency.
The Latest Lab Experiment in CASH Chemistry
Students in Mr. Mendenhall’s AP Chemistry class were titrating malonic acid with sodium hydroxide using a pH meter. The students monitored the changes in pH as the volume of sodium hydroxide added increased. The pH meter allowed the students to use calculus to determine the equivalence point of the titration without using acid/base indicators so that the molar mass of malonic acid and the pKa values of malonic acid could be accurately determined. All students were able to obtain all of their necessary values with minimal error!
