The life of Shakespeare
The great playwright William Shakespeare was born in 1564 to John Shakespeare and Mary Arden and passed in 1616 at the age of 52. He was born into a lower class family and was not thought of being a successful person but more the likes of his father, a glove maker. Shakespeare didn't take education to an university or to a mentorship either which made his work all the more impressive. He started his acting career in London but was never a huge role in any play he did. Later he married Anne Hathaway and had a baby girl named Susanna. During the two year absence of the theater during the deathly plagues Shakespeare wrote poems and plays to use when the theater doors opened again. His first two plays that debuted were Richard III and The Comedy of Errors. These plays launched his writing career to a new level
The Plays
William Shakespeare wrote many plays from comedies to tragedies. He wrote 37 plays in all, and all were very popular but possibly the most popular would be the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. This play was about the story of two lovers not allowed to be together but will do anything to be together. Other popular plays included A Midsummer Night's Dream, a comedy of lovers running into an enchanted forest. Hamlet, a story of a king's death and his brothers betrayal. And Othello, a tragedy about the ruined marriage because of the jealousy of a soldier. Even with the fame that came from writing plays Shakespeare did much more to contribute to the English language as a whole.
