Note from the Counselors
Conflict Resolution:
Conflicts are part of our lives every single day and because of this, we want our kids to develop conflict resolution skills to help in these situations. From arguing over toys to fighting over who’s in charge of the remote to drama and disagreements with friends, conflict can leave both kids (and adults) feeling frustrated, upset, and exhausted.
Teaching kids how to effectively manage and resolve conflict is so crucial. It helps them build stronger relationships with others, learn how to problem solve, develop healthy communication, and figure out their boundaries.
You can help your child at home learn how to work through conflict by role-playing.
Role-Play: Pretend you are one of your child’s friends and come up with a problem, help your child think through what they can do to solve the problem or act it out!
Here is an example that you can help your child work through:
“You are at recess and someone has one of the recess toys and will not share it with you. What do you do?”
Here are some ideas:
Talk it Out
Say “Please stop” to the other student
Walk away and stay away
Share or take turns
Ignore…don’t react
The World Health Organization states that adequate sleep is essential for mental health, and excessive screen time before bedtime can negatively impact sleep patterns.

Reminders about Emergencies
Dropping Lunches Off
Creighton Guardians,
As you know, our doors have alarms on them and staff/students are unable to exit or enter the building without a teacher badge. Due to this, students go to recess before lunches and once they are outside for recess, they are unable to come back inside without and adult and our adults are monitoring the safety of our students at recess. Our front office needs plenty of time to call the classrooms, prior to recess, for students to come and get their lunch. Here are the following times lunches need to be dropped off in order for us to ensure your child is able to receive their lunch:
Pre-kindergarten, 1st grade and 3rd grade must have lunches dropped off by 10:30 am.
Kindergarten, 2nd grade and 4th grade must have lunches dropped off by 11:30 am.
Thank you for your understanding on us needing to keep our building and students safe.
Free & Reduce Lunch
- Parents must complete an application for students to be eligible for Free or Reduced meals.
- The online free and reduced application is open.www.myschoolapps.com
- In order to receive any assistance from Creighton Elementary, students must qualify for free and reduce lunch.

Bus Arrival Text Notification Option for Parents/Guardians
Conroe ISD Transportation now has the capability to send parents/guardians bus stop arrival text notifications. For information on how to register for optional parent notifications go to the link below or scan the QR code and click the SMART tag™ Parent Portal Registration link. Once you are at our website, follow the instructions to start receiving text notifications when your child’s bus is approximately 15 minutes away from the designated stop.
https://www.conroeisd.net/transportation/smart-tag/
Important Information:
1) The Smart tag™ Parent Notification system works effectively when drivers are able to follow their routes exactly as they are designed in the District’s routing system. When there is a situation such as a wreck, weather issue, etc., the route may be impacted. The driver may need to deviate from their designated path and approach the bus stop from another direction. If there is a deviation in the direction, the system may not send out the 15-minute arrival notification. Please contact your feeder Transportation Center if this occurs on a regular basis.
2) To access and receive your child’s bus stop information, you must create an account through the Smart Tag Parent Portal link above.
3) Instructional videos, links to additional information, and a Q&A section can also be found in the Smart Tag Parent Portal.
4) We ask for patience as we analyze incoming data and make necessary adjustments during implementation of the Smart Tag system.
