Harorview Express
February 26th- March 3rd
Message From Mrs. Harvey
Happy Monday! I don't know about you but I kind of feel like winter may have finally decided to make an appearance! I hope you all got a chance to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather. It seems kind of crazy that Spring Break is just 3 weeks away. Speaking of Spring Break, if there are any travel plans in your future that will require missed school, please remember to let the office know so we can get it into PowerSchool. You can contact the office at 523-1850 or email us at harborview@juneauschools.org. If your absence will be more than 3 days we ask that you complete a long term travel form which can be downloaded from our website, hves.juneauschools.org, or picked up at the office. Thanks for all your help!
PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO COMPLETE THIS SURVEY
Each year we gather information from teachers, parents, and students using the School Climate and Connectedness Survey. Please take a moment to complete the survey. This is part of a grant that benefits our school with additional funding. It should take less than 10 minutes to complete. The survey is open through March 24th! Thank you for your support!
Silver Graphics Fundraiser...Please Complete the Permission Form!
Dear Harborview Parents and Guardians,
The Harborview PTA is partnering with Silver Graphics for our Spring Fundraiser this year. Silver Graphics will print your child’s art on products of your choice ranging from magnets to ceramic mugs to canvas totes and more! The PTA needs your permission to send your child’s artwork to Silver Graphics, it will be scanned and returned. They then create a PRIVATE online shop and provide us with a unique school code so that you can buy and sell products with your child’s artwork on them.
In order to send your students’ artwork to Silver Graphics, the Juneau School District requires that we obtain your permission to share their first and last name with this company.
Please return the attached permission form by March 3rd, 2023.
You DO need to fill out a new permission form even if you filled one out last year.

Thank You For Coming To Math Night!
Oral Language Development Tip Of The Week
Bake or cook something together. Read the directions out loud. Highlight verbs...measure, pour, add, stir, heat...let your child experience the actions with you.
Play a board game (or card game). Practice taking turns and being a gracious winner/loser.
Report Cards Coming Soon!
The end of the trimester is March 3rd and teachers will be busy adding the final grades to report cards. We will be mailing them home to families on Wednesday March 8th.
Recess Reminder
Dress For The Weather!
We go out to recess twice a day at all grade levels. One recess is for 30 minutes and the other is a 15 minute lunch recess. Please help your child enjoy their time outside by helping them to dress for the weather. Boots, rain or snow pants, coats, hats, and gloves are all encouraged and if your child needs anything they can always ask their teacher or the office. We have items that have been donated that are cleaned and available to borrow or to keep. We also encourage you to stop by the lobby any time to look for any missing items. Our lost and found is overflowing with snowpants, coats, hats, and gloves! We would love to help them get back to their owners! If you write your child's name on their items then we can deliver them back to kids!
Come Join Our Team!
We are looking to fill 2 Self-Contained Special Education Para-educator positions in the next 3 weeks. If you have ever thought about going into education this is a great opportunity! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. You can apply on the district website!
We are also going to be hiring for 2 Special Education Certified Teachers for the 2023-2024 school year.
