Culture and Climate Survey
Positive school climates are essential for creating the environment, resources, and relationships necessary for students to thrive. As part of our ongoing commitment to understanding and improving our school culture, Sycamore Community Schools is conducting a Culture & Climate survey for the second consecutive year.
This year, we've collaborated with SHP, a new third-party group, to administer the survey. The updated questions aim to provide a more nuanced understanding of our school environment, and SHP's expertise ensures a fresh perspective in collecting and analyzing valuable feedback.
Your opinions are crucial in shaping the direction of our school community. Please click here to begin the survey. The survey is designed to be anonymous, and no personal information will be collected.
To maintain the integrity of the results, SHP will be collecting and analyzing the responses, sharing their findings with the district. We appreciate your candid feedback and encourage you to complete the survey by Monday, March 11, 2024, at 11:59 pm.
Thank you for being an integral part of our commitment to creating safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments in Sycamore Community Schools.
Afternoon Dismissal
Car Rider Process
Thank you to all of our families for their flexibility and understanding as we implemented a new process for our afternoon car rider dismissal this week. We appreciate families adhering to the pick-up arrival time of 2:45 to ensure fire lanes and traffic are not imeded in our dismissal process. A second thank you to Blue Ash Police Department for their guidance and collaboration in ensuring the safety of our students, staff, and families.
Author Study Updates
Stuart Gibbs Author Visit
In preparation for the author visit, students have the opportunity to experience and engage with the various novels written by Stuart Gibbs on their teams. The teams at Greene are diving into various series and work of Mr. Gibbs prior to his visit.
In the upcoming weeks, teams will be holding contests to encourage students to continue reading and exploring these novels. For each book read, students will receive one entry into a raffle, taking place on every team. Once in February and once in March, one students from each team will be selected to win a copy of one of Stuart Gibbs books.
Additional school wide activities and contests will be announced in the coming weeks!

“Optional” CogAT Testing
Register by Monday, March 11th
We are offering an OPTIONAL test for gifted placement for the 2024-2025 school year. If you are interested, you may register your student for the CogAT Test which will be held on Monday, March 18.
If your child is already in a gifted class or recently qualified for a gifted course, it is NOT necessary for them to re-qualify for that specific class.
For your reference, the gifted requirements for advanced language arts and accelerated math placement are receiving a 128 cognitive score on the CogAT and scoring in the 95th percentile on the Math and/or Reading MAP assessment. Requirements for double accelerated math placement are receiving a 144 cognitive score on the CogAT and scoring in the 98th percentile on the Math MAP assessment.
This assessment is an “additional opportunity” for students to test who have earned CogAT scores in the past close to to the gifted requirements (128/144). Students who are taking this test will be missing several hours of class on March 18th and will be responsible for any missed work. If you have any questions about this testing, please contact one of the following people:
School Counselor A-K: Jennifer Asher asherj@sycamoreschools.org
School Counselor L-Z: Tracey Bachmann bachmannt@sycamoreschools.org
You can register your student for the optional testing through this link. The deadline to register is Monday, March 11.
