A Note From Mr. Christ
Dear Paddock Families,
I hope you all have had a nice weekend and were able to enjoy the warm, sunny weather. A big thank you to all of the parents that came to Paddock's Parent Orientation this past Thursday night. It was nice to see so many families learning about the all the great things our teachers will be doing with the students this year.
It is only two weeks into the school year and it already feels like our students and staff have hit their stride. Last week, Paddock staff spent some extra time teaching classroom and school routines and building positive classroom communities. Doing this helps to ensure all students feel comfortable and confident while learning and will be instrumental to student success this school year.
Have a great week-
Jason Christ

School Safety Drills
District 15 is strongly committed to school safety. Each year, schools are required, by Illinois School Code, to conduct the following drills:
- Three evacuation drills. One of the three evacuation drills must be supervised by the fire department
- One bus evacuation drill
- One severe weather/shelter-in-place drill
- Two law enforcement (lockdown) drills
All lockdown drills will be announced to school personnel and students prior to the commencement of the drill and schools will provide notification to parents and guardians in advance of any lockdown drill that involves the participation of students. If you would like to exempt your child from participating in a walk-through lockdown drill, please email Mr. Christ. Alternative safety instruction related to an active threat or active shooter event will be provided to students who do not participate in a walk-through lockdown drill to provide them with essential information, training, and instruction through less sensorial safety training methods.
Please see the District 15 website for additional information about school safety drills.

If you would like to have pizza the night of the event, please complete the pizza pre-order form below and return it to your student's teacher no later than September 6th. Forms are also available in the Paddock main office. Hope to see you there!

Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures
Drop-off and pick-up will look very similar to last school year. Students will enter and exit the school building at specific entrances based on whether they are a car rider, walker, or riding the bus. In the morning, there will be an adult at each of these doors to greet and guide the students. Please see the image to the right to help orient you and your child as to where they will go.
Students will enter and exit the building at the following locations based on grade level:
- Door 1: Walkers
- Door 3: Bus riders in bil K, bil 1, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade,
- Door 4: Bus riders in kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade
- Door 12: All car riders
When dropping off or picking up your student, please remember to:
- Stay in your car
- Have your student exit and enter the car on the passenger side
- Pull up as far as you can
- Stay in line with the other cars. Do not try and pull around someone.
- Do not block the crosswalk
Following these procedures will help to keep our students safe and traffic moving.

2022-2023 CEP School
This year, based on federally outlined criteria, Paddock Elementary School is eligible to participate in a National School Breakfast and School Lunch Program called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). This means that all students attending Paddock will be able to have a school breakfast and/or lunch for free everyday.
Families are still encouraged to complete the Fee Waiver form here (Spanish form) to determine if they qualify for additional financial assistance with school fees, athletic and activity waivers, etc. Again, completing the application is still necessary for other programs and assists with funding for educational programs in District 15. If you have any questions regarding this, please call the Paddock main office.
