The Spencer Scoop
Spencer Elementary - May 1, 2020
Hello Spencer Families,
Hopefully, your family has settled in with online learning. As always, please reach out to your child's teacher if you are having any issues.
If your child's teacher has not heard from you or your child, we will reach out. Please know our rationale is not to pry into your personal life, instead we are reaching out to you because we care. If we can help, please let us know.
We will develop student assignments for the 2020-2021 school year in the upcoming weeks. If you believe you have important information regarding your child that the school staff may not have, this form provides an opportunity to share that information with school personnel. Your input will be used to assist us in placing your child for the coming school year. The placement recommendation form for next year can be found HERE.
Next week we are going to celebrate teacher appreciation day and have a virtual spirit week.
To follow along with all of the fun, please follow the Padlet link below so you can participate!
Enjoy the first weekend of May,
B. Renner

Dear 4th-grade Families,
We are looking forward to having your student join our Maltby Family as a 5th grader for the
2020-2021 school year. One of the exciting parts about Maltby is your child will be able to
choose their Year Long Encore class for the next school year. There are four options to choose
from - BAND, ORCHESTRA, MUSIC or YEAR LONG P.E. We have placed the Encore
choice form on the Maltby website. There are wonderful videos and a description of each class
embedded into the choice form so your child can get an idea of what each class is about.
Please email the Encore teacher if you have any further questions about the class.
How to get to the form:
● Go to www.brightonk12.com
● Click “Select School” on the upper, right-hand side of the page. Select “Maltby
Intermediate” as the school
● Scroll down and on the left-hand side there is a link to click on that says “5th Grade Year
Long Encore Selection 20-21.” Please look carefully and do not select that 6th Grade
link.
● This will bring you to a page that allows you to select another link on the right side of the
page called “5th Grade Year Long Encore Selection 20-21.
● The form that needs to be filled out will show-up. Please submit one choice by April 24th
*Note: if you have more than one 4th grader entering Maltby you will need to submit one form for each child.
Thank you and we look forward to meeting your child in August.
For those looking forward to a return to organized sports in the fall, Brighton Bulldogs Football and Cheer are currently accepting registrations for the Fall 2020 Season.
