Favorite Memory of a recent school experience:
Some of my favorite memories from WHS include how our staff has come together at times to support fellow staff members, their families, and our students in difficult times of need. We have done meals, fundraisers, donated assistive items, and more. It feels so good to work in a place where people support each other and truly care about each other like family.
Fondest Memory of your own elementary experience:
One of my favorite memories was from when I was in 5th grade. It was the last week of school and my kindergarten teacher was retiring. They had all of the students that had been in this teacher’s class line up in the hallway. We then walked by her in the gym and each student gave her a carnation flower. By the time I got to her at the end of the line, she was in tears, surrounded by flowers, and the look on her face showed it all. I then had the privilege of staying in touch with her until after I taught kindergarten at WHS. She even came to visit my classroom and helped with stations. She was one of the people that made me want to become a teacher. It was so powerful to see those flowers and how they represented the lives she touched and how they also touched hers.
Words That Describe Me:
Outdoorsy, Determined, Sentimental

What is your hidden talent?
Guinea pig whisper…… Making scared/nervous/special animals trust me and feel safe.
What advice would you give to someone just starting off their career in education?
Take it all in, listen, ask for help, be firm yet kind with students, have clear expectations, trust yourself, have a fellow teacher friend to talk/vent/bounce ideas with, and don’t be afraid to just go home and have a drink!
What is the last joke that you recall:
Q: Why did the cow cross the road? A: To go to the moooooovies!
Best Concert Experience:
Billy Joel Concert at Wrigley Field

Thank you to you and the WHS staff for taking time out of your week to join families at FMSC tonight! WHS is truly a special place and I’m so grateful that my kids are surrounded by caring people who value learning in and out of the classroom.
