THINK TANK VISITS MAKER CLUB
This week the district Think Tank came to our Maker Club meeting and brought a plethora of robots for our students to build, drive, and program! The students had a blast building an R2D2 robot and then testing out their driving skills through our mazes. Students also had the opportunity to bowl and race some tiny Sphero robots as well as program some Cubelet robots to act in a variety of ways! We are so thankful to Kiera Elledge and all of her Think Tank crew for coming out and giving our students such a fun and challenging experience! #broncosMAKE
VETERAN'S DAY PROJECT
For Veteran's Day, some of our students at Bedford Junior High participated in a very special project! They created cards of encouragement to send to Travis Mackie, a veteran who is currently in a PTSD recovery program. Travis is the cousin of Lena West, the SRO here at BJH. He is one of many veterans who suffer from both mental and physical scars after returning home from duty. We are so grateful for the service of all our military and the sacrifices they make for our freedom. Jennifer Holderead is one of our amazing teachers as well as a veteran who served during Desert Storm with the United States Air Force. She and her students were honored to be a part of this special project.
