Pennies for Patients
Dear Parents and Students of PHSC,
During the next four months, the National Honor Society will be collecting spare change and other donations to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through the Pennies for Patients Campaign. Central has been participating in this fundraiser for 10 years and the generosity of the Pickerington Community has been astounding. With this being our 10 year “anniversary”, we are hoping to make this our biggest contribution yet.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a voluntary health organization which prides itself on the immense amount of support it gives to the funding of blood cancer research, providing education and patient services and its relentless pursuit in finding the cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. In the time since the Society was founded, it has invested more the $550 million in blood cancer research. In 2007 alone, $67.7 million was invested and 5.1 million contacts with patients, caregivers and healthcare professional were made. Our participation in the Pennies for Patients campaign assists LLS in reaching their goal and helping many central Ohio families live a more “normal” life.
We are asking for your donation of spare change to assist local families who are affected by blood cancers. There are multiple ways to participate!
- Members of NHS will be walking around school with containers to collect spare change and any other monetary donations. Even the smallest donation will help.
- If you would like to donate more than spare change, checks can be made payable to LLS and sent with your student to school or mailed to:
Pickerington Central, 300 Opportunity Way, Pickerington OH, 43147
attention Heather Peirano.
- Donate online at http://www.studentseries.org Please choose our school from the drop-down menu.
Remember all donations are tax deductible! Thank you for your support and generosity.
Sincerely, Brayden Harlor (NHS President)
Caroline Reyes (NHS Vice President)
Heather Peirano (NHS Advisor)
