Dismissal
Thank you for your patience as we implement our new dismissal procedures. Any suggestions that you have to improve the process are welcome. Here are some pointers which will help the process run smoother:
Please do not get here before 3:10 p.m. Poquessing dismisses from our lot in the same manner. You may get stuck in their carpool line.
Please display your placard with your child's last name on the passenger side of the car. First names are helpful as well. We will be distributing placards this week but any sign will do.
Remind your child(ren) to look for their siblings (if any) and keep a watchful eye out for the car.
If you are choosing to park at Poquessing or elsewhere-your child can be dismissed with the walkers. It is important that you let your child's teacher know your plan.
Understand we cannot control the amount of cars each day. Weather may impact the amount of cars picking up. BE PATIENT!!
PULL UP. This helps the line move quicker.
Again-we work hard to keep your children safe. Help us do that by following the procedures.
Ferderbar Safety Patrol
Thank you to Joey Griffis, Nathan Delarso, Aiden Atkins and Colton Clee who help Ms. Gayle and Mrs. Mowatt sent up the carpool line each day. We couldn't do it without you boys!!

Attendance-Absence and Lateness
We certainly understand that illness or unforeseen circumstances happen that may prevent a student from attending school a few times during the school year. Absences of ten or more are considered excessive for one full school year. Please send your child to school unless they have a rash, fever, vomiting/diarrhea or an infectious disease such as conjunctivitis or head lice. (This information is not intended as medical advice, but as a simple guideline to follow until you contact your doctor or healthcare provider for advice).
The staff at Ferderbar believes that regular attendance in the classroom is conducive to learning and that frequent absences of pupils from regular classes disrupt the continuity of the instructional process. We also believe that class participation is a factor in determining student achievement. The teaching staff and I urge all parents and guardians to stress punctuality and regular attendance habits with their children.
Starting the day off in a calm, organized manner sets the tone for the whole day. There is a great deal of research that shows how much a good start to the day, consistency and teaching of organizational skills to young children can impact their habits and overall productivity as an adult. Unfortunately, it is not the responsibility of an elementary aged child to get up and out the door on time. It is the responsibility of their caregiver to ensure that a consistent morning routine is followed.
If a child has an issue with attending school we are here to help. Please reach out to your child's teacher, guidance counselor or principal.
