Important Information for ALL Families:
New After School Pick-Up / Dismissal Procedures Begin Next Monday, March 25
For the safety of our students, we will be making changes to our dismissal procedures beginning next Monday, March 25. As with all changes, this new process will take some time to adjust to. However, it's important for the adults to model for our students: “WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!" Some of the key changes are as follows:
DRIVERS:
1. ALL families who DRIVE TO SCHOOL must remain in vehicles and use the car pick-up procedures. Please DO NOT park and walk on campus.
2. Family CAR TAGS must be visible. (This will match the tag on your student's backpack.) Families who need a new car tag please call the office and we will send one home with your student.
3. Only the parking loop (where we currently create two lanes of traffic) will be open after 3:00. All vehicles MUST TURN RIGHT when entering the parking lot. Cars will continue to create two lanes in the front loop, until they begin to merge at the main crosswalk.
4.**NEW** Cars in the front loop will zig-zag (take turns pulling forward to the curb) at the main crosswalk (as they curve to the right toward the gym), moving from two lanes, to one single lane as they proceed to the student pick-up area, near the basketball court, next to the gym. (See photo below.)
5. **NEW** The student pick-up area will move closer to the playground and will be single lane, along the curb only, next to the gym. This will look like airport style drop off/pick up, where cars pull up, load students, and pull out immediately. (See photo below.)
6. **NEW** Students will only enter vehicles on the passenger side. As soon as students are in the car, the car may pull out from the curb.
WALKERS:
1. Families who walk to school to pick up their students must use designated areas for walking pick-up and designated crosswalks. (More detailed information will come later this week.)
2. Students and families will be crossed on crosswalks in groups. For safety purposes, the main crosswalk, through the south parking lot will close shortly after dismissal.
BUS RIDERS:
1. No changes at this time.
Beginning March 25 - New Car Pick-Up Routine
Register for Kindergarten
Do you or someone you know have a child who will turn 5 by Aug. 31? If so, it’s time to register for kindergarten. Kindergarten registration began last week and can be done online from the kindergarten registration webpage. You may also visit any elementary school office in our district between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Translated materials are available.
Primary Math Night is Coming - April 4
Primary Math Game Night will be on Thursday, April 4th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Project Labs. We look forward to seeing our Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade families on April 4th.
Schoolwide Character Trait for March - Honesty
This month’s focus is Honesty.
PurposeFull Pursuits
Have some fun connecting as a family this month while practicing Honesty. There are three “PurposeFull Pursuits” for you to complete together. How many can you do this month?
Pursuit #2:
Review Honesty as a family. Honesty is being truthful in what you say and do. Discuss the importance of being Honest and work together to create a family Honesty pledge. Create and decorate a sign together that explains what Honesty means in your family. Have each family member sign the pledge and choose a spot to display it. Refer back to the pledge as a reminder to be Honest and to celebrate when Honesty is practiced!

Dollar Bookstore - Every Tuesday
Each Tuesday, during lunch recess, students have the opportunity to buy books for one dollar ($1) at our PTO-sponsored Dollar Bookstore. These books are sometimes new, but often gently used, and are ready for new homes. Students love shopping for books and can even earn "free book" certificates from teachers and staff.
Donations of gently used books are always welcome! If your child has outgrown their books, please consider donating them to Dollar Bookstore. Students may purchase 1-2 books each week, so please limit the amount of money they bring to school. No more than $5 dollars, please. This is an optional event and is a great way to get books into the hands of our students.
