About Us
The mission of the E.P. Todd Library Media Center and Learning Commons is to assist members of the learning community in becoming effective users of information both through on-line sources and through books. Using a variety of forms of media we wish to foster the love of reading.
Our Library Media Specialist is Wendy Rollins.
Our Library Media Assistant is Elizabeth Graham.
We serve over 900 students from three-year-old Montessori Kindergarten through 8th grade. To provide extended access to our facility and our resources, we open at 7:30 and close at 3:30. In addition to visiting throughout the day for check-out and research purposes, students may come before school, from classes, and during lunch with a pass. The library has sixteen computers for student use.
Our collection of over 20,000 items includes books, Kindles, Playaways, and magazines, as well as professional books and videos for teachers. Users can find items by using our Destiny online catalog. Our patrons, both students and teachers, continue to help us maintain the quality of our collection by giving us suggestions for titles to add to our holdings.
Our books can be checked out for a period of three weeks. Kindles and Playaways (digital audiobooks) may also be checked out for two weeks with a parent/guardian permission form on file. Reference books circulate overnight. We do not charge fines for overdue materials; however you may not have more than two materials checked out at a time if one is overdue or lost. Paying attention to due dates is important. Students may renew items for three more weeks if they bring the items back into the library.
Guidelines about rules and expectations for library usage, Internet Safety, etc. are shared with all students during library orientation at the beginning of the school year, and displayed within the library.
