THE CLEAR VIEW CUB CONNECTION
SEPTEMBER 11, 2022 - ISSUE #5
Good Afternoon CUB Families!
It was another AMAZING week at Clear View Elementary! Here's a peek at what happened last week;
- Almost all of our students (except kindergarten) received their 1:1 devices.
- We completed our first full "Round" of letter days, which means we completed days A-F on our Enrichment calendar and have started over. Students have been able to meet all of their wonderful Enrichment teachers. Our Enrichment Team encompasses our Music, PE, Art, Media, Computer, and Maker Space teachers.
- Students in all grades began (and in some cases completed) Beginning of Year diagnostic testing.
- Fifth grade students took over the morning announcements!
- We held our first fire drill and it went off without a hitch.
- We handed out more Car Rider Placards and now just about everyone in the car line has one. If you still need one, please call the school office to request one.
Here's what's happening this week in Cub Country:
- Third grade students will participate in the state required Beginning of Year Reading Assessment on Tuesday, Sept. 13th.
- Our PTO meeting for potential officers and others interested in getting our PTO organized will also be on Tuesday, Sept. 13th, at 6:00 pm in the Media Center. If you signed up to help, either online or at Open House, you were sent an email last week. A few were returned to us and undeliverable, so if you would like to attend and did not receive an email, please plan to come!!
- Coffee with the Counselors will be held on Thursday, Sept. 15th, at 9:00 am in the Cub Cafe. Coffee and some breakfast treats will be available. Please come out and meet with our school counselor and social worker to learn about our Responsive Classroom program, CHEW Program, and how to help your student if they are struggling with the transition to a new school.
I am very excited to share that we have registered coaches and teams for both Girls on the Run and Stride this fall at Clear View Elementary! We have a number of staff members who are excited to coach and support this program. Space is limited. If you have a student in grades 3-5 who is interested in participating, please see the registration information posted below. Registration is available at www.newrivery.org.
Thank you to everyone for your continued patience with our entry and dismissal processes. Bus times are improving and we are getting quicker each day with the Car Rider lines. Parents using the Car Rider lines are asked to please read the important message below about unloading and loading.
We are still working on naming our Cub, and a vote will be coming soon. Several classes have submitted their candidate and once we have them all, we will do a school-wide vote. We have some good names so far!!
Lastly, please consider "adopting" one of our CUB staff members. Information and sign-up is below. We are asking for a monthly encouraging note or "pick-me-up" treat for the person you adopt. If your child's teacher has already been taken, please consider adopting another staff member. We are all one big family!
Thank you all for a wonderful start to the school year. We are valuing the amazing parent and community partnerships we are forming and are looking forward to the rest of this amazing year.
