DELRAN HIGH SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT
Delran High School, an inclusive learning community, provides educational opportunities for intellectual development while valuing the importance of cultural diversity and tradition.
A Message from Mr. Finkle!
Hello DHS Community!
I hope that this letter finds you healthy as we gear up for the beginning of school which is only a few weeks away. We have been working on schedules which should be completed in the coming days. As soon as they are ready, we will communicate this out with you. The schedules will be available on the parent portal.
At this time, there will be no requests honored to change cohorts or change bewtween Hybrid and Remote learning.
As there has been a bit of confusion over the schedule for 2020-21, let me try to simplify it for you. We essentially have four(4) groups of students this year at DHS. The schedules will run as seen below.
All students are expected to be engaged in school work from 7:30 - 2:30 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Also, please understand that your child may also have homework to complete in the eveing.
In addition, there are some students who may be Remote that must sign-in to a Google Meet to attend some classes due to the nature of the course. If your child is in this situation, the teacher will make your child aware of it and explain the expecations. When you look at your child's schedule, this will be denoted by the class meeting in a room instead of it saying OUT. This DOES NOT mean that your child must come into school, it only denotes that the class will be held through an online feed. In this situation, some teachers may request that your child sign-in on specific days, maybe ones that are not necessarily what they are assigned to. For example, if a teacher has 3 students who need to take the course virtually while other students are in the classroom (Many AP Courses are like this), and two are assigned to Rancocas and one to Delaware, regarless of if your child is on the Delaware side or Rancocas side, the teacher may instruct all students to sign-in on Monday and Thursday which are the Delaware days. This would be done for continuity and is in the best interest of all of the students.
For the safety and security of the entire DHS community, it is important that students are aware of the expectations we have with regards to masks and social distancing. Masks, as mandated by the Governor, are mandatory at all times within the building. They are also mandatory when waiting for the bus and when on the bus. There is no wiggle room with this. If your child cannot wear a mask due to a medical issue, please forward and and all documentation to the appropriate Assistant Principal. As a reminder, Mr. Stolarick works with families whose last name begins with A-Li. Dr. Jones works with those whose last name begins with Lj-Z.
As for social distancing, we have set each classroom with an appropriate number of desks and chairs that will support student and adult safety. We have purchased plexiglass dividers for classrooms where the movement of desks was not possible. Safety is our number one priority!!!!
I hope that this clears up any confusion about the daily schedule for this school year.
We do look forward to an amazing 2020-21 school year, certainly one for the ages! My next correspondence will be on September 3rd where I will have more specifics about the nuts and bolts concerning the opening of the school year in terms of where students are to be dropped off, picked-up, etc.
Should you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me at dfinkle@delranschools.org or (856) 461-6100 x3005.

September 21st and 22nd Senior Portait Make-Ups
October 27th and 29th Underclassman Make-Ups

Class of 2024
Freshman Orientation is scheduled for this Wednesday, August 26th. It is open to all students, regardless of whether your child is in the Delaware or Rancocas cohort. If you did not receive a letter denoting the time for your child to arrive, please reach out to the main office at 856-461-6100 x3000 or email Denise Stellwag at dstellwag@delranschools.org.
The Convocation is all set for 7:00 on the evening of August 26th and we are looking very much forward to an amazing event. Please make sure that you adhere to the time listed on your parking permit. I have been informed that the colors used for the cards may not exactly match the color listed in the communication; however, please follow the instructions listed on the card. Conrow Road will have two lanes to enter so please feel free to use both lanes.

Message for the Class of 2024
The Guidance Counselors would like to invite our new students in the Class of 2024 and remind students that if they have not yet done so, to join our Google Classroom, 6vrahjh, in order to receive timely information from our department.
As the Guidance Counselors prepare for the coming school year and work on course scheduling, we may need to contact students to resolve conflicts/course corrections. We ask that students complete the Summer Contact Information Form so that we will be able to reach them in a timely fashion.
