Tool #1
eduCanon - Customize Student Viewing Experience of Educational Videos
What is eduCanon?
eduCanon is an online learning environment to create and share interactive video lessons. Teachers begin with any YouTube, Vimeo, or TeacherTube video content (screencasts, Khan Academy, Minute Physics, TED, NOVA, etc.) and transform what is traditionally passive content into an active experience for students. By time-linking activities that students engage with as the video progresses the content is segmented into digestible components - increasing student engagement and, through our real-time monitoring, informing the next day’s lesson planning.

Office Pro Plus 2013(Windows) & Mac 2011(Mac) Available for Purchase
Copies of Microsoft Office are available to CCS employees for $9.95. The process of ordering and obtaining the license has changed this year. Please refer to the email from Dr. Katherine Propst on 11/14/2014 for instructions to purchase.
Two New Chromebook Carts
The Technology Department is purchasing two new Chromebook carts for our school. A Chromebook is a laptop running Chrome OS as its operating system. The devices are designed to be used primarily while connected to the Internet, with most applications and data residing "in the cloud".
The Media Technology Advisory Committee agreed to dedicate the Chromebook carts to the Math Department since their artificial intelligence program, ALEKS, is web-based and can be accommodated using Chromebooks. The two Dell E3330 carts, which have Microsoft Office and other programs not available in the cloud and that have been reserved for the Math Department only, will return to circulation for all departments, residing in Rm 214 in the Media Center.
More to Come
The Technology Department is working hard to secure more laptops for our schools. In addition to the two Chromebook carts, we will be receiving a cart of Dell E3340s - the newer version of the E3330s. The new cart should arrive sometime before winter break.
