Principal's Weekly Newsletter
WE ARE HOLY TRINITY CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL
~ October 19th, 2020 ~
Letter from the Principal
Congratulations to all our Celtics for making it through the First Quarter! It's hard to believe that the first 9 weeks are behind us, and that we are now embarking on the Second Quarter of our 2020-2021 Academic Year.
Our Second Quarter begins with an appeal to all families. We are launching an Emergency Food Drive this week to help St. Vincent de Paul Service Center in Temple restock its food pantry which was devastated by a fire last week. Please keep all the volunteers and staff of SVP in your prayers as they struggle to rebuild their services to the homeless of Temple. And pray especially for the homeless and the poor who rely on SVP for food and comfort and guidance - this is an incredible heartbreak for their community and they need our support now more than ever. Details of the food drive are below. Please be generous and help Holy Trinity help its neighbors!
We are blessed by our school family that has truly risen to the challenges imposed by Covid! The Faculty and Staff of HT thank our students, our parents, and our visitors for taking everyone's safety seriously and helping keep Holy Trinity safe.
As always, continue to wear your masks and to practice social distancing whether you're at school or out and about. We ask that you continue to hold our school, its families, its students and its staff in your prayers. We certainly hold you in ours!
Mrs. Brogan

VIRTUE OF THE WEEK: OBEDIENCE
The virtue of Obedience is aligned with the Cardinal virtue of Justice.
DEFINITION OF OBEDIENCE (also known as: Fidelity):
Assenting to rightful authority without hesitation or resistance
OBEDIENCE LOOKS LIKE:
- Performing your duties faithfully and thoroughly
- The Blessed Mother saying ‘yes’ to God
- Doing your homework
- Completing your assignments for school each day
- Doing your chores at home when asked
OBEDIENCE SOUNDS LIKE:
- I finished what I was asked to do.
- Behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it done unto me according to thy word.
- I did my homework.
- I turn my assignments in when they are due.
- I did my chores.

BELOW ARE PICTURES TELLING THE STORY OF OUR WEEK
~~~~~~
Blue Day Mass with Fr. John
Jesus invites us to step into that mature self, put aside the short-cuts, the 'pacifiers' we relied on as children, and fully assume our role as His disciples.
And thank you also to Mr. Eichelkraut who several times now has assisted with the piano parts for the Alleluia. It's nice to see our teachers sharing their lesser known talents.
PSAT at Holy Trinity
Another PSAT exams is being offered in January for those students unable to test this week.
How to Cope with Loneliness While Doing Online Learning from Home
Students and Parents,
As you are continuing to stay safe at home while we are still facing the uncertainty of the Covid pandemic, I have found several websites that hopefully will help you manage any feelings of loneliness and despair that you are experiencing.
Just interacting on the computer with distance learning can never replace being with people. Hopefully, you will find these articles helpful, but more importantly, let's all pray that the pandemic ends soon, and we can all return to being with our classmates, friends, and teachers.
HT NEWS AND INFO
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL EMERGENCY FOOD DRIVE
Dear Celtic Families, Students, and Friends,
In response to the tragic fire that devastated the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Temple last week, Holy Trinity is hosting an Emergency Food Drive to help replenish their stocks.
Beginning Monday, each Family (Aidan, Columba, Finnian, and Killian) will collect non-perishable foods in the color-scheme of their Family:
Aidan: Red foods (any non-perishable cans or packaging with red tones or content)
Columba: Green foods (any non-perishable cans or packaging with green tones or content)
Finnian: Blue foods (any non-perishable cans or packaging with blue tones or content)
Killian: Yellow foods (any non-perishable cans or packaging with yellow tones or content).
Monetary donations are also accepted and can be turned in to the front office. Contact Mrs. Mungia for more details on monetary donations. vmungia@holytrinitychs.org.
The Family that collects the most in terms of weight will win a prize.
St. Vincent de Paul needs our help! Let's show them how generous and supporting Holy Trinity is: help us make a huge donation to their food pantry at the end of this week. The homeless and poor of Temple rely on St.Vincent de Paul's food pantry and the loss of their food pantry is a catastrophe for their community. Let's show SVP our support for their ministry to the poor.
NB: After this food drive, we may have a clothing drive/blanket drive to help them replenish what they lost.
