Don't Forget! ~ No School For Students Friday, September 29.
Safe, Responsible and Respectful Students at BAE!!
Our students did such a great job. The officers were so impressed with how quiet, attentive and respectful our students were throughout the entire drill. A direct quote from an officer ~ "Those children obviously knew this was important and followed their procedures to a tee."
We are very proud of the staff and students at Blue Ash Elementary. We are definitely a school that takes care of ourselves and others.
BAE Service Project. We care and we show it!!
At Sycamore Schools it is part of our mission to address the needs of the total student, teaching not only to the mind but to the heart. To this end, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders at Blue Ash Elementary are undertaking a school service project that will overlap with curriculum standards in their reading and writing classes. On November 17th, 20th, and 21st they will be heading into the community to show their appreciation and lend a helping hand. Our goal is to go to as many houses as possible and get to work serving others. Do you need raking completed at your house? Just LEAF it to us! Do you know of someone else who lives in Blue Ash and may be in need of this service? You can fill this out on their behalf! There is no limit to the number of times you can submit.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact Jim Weeks or Jennifer Kolde at 513-686-1710.

Important Transportation Funding Information.....
Funding for Ohio school districts’ bus transportation is partially supported by the number of students that ride the bus. The amount is based on the accounting of students that ride the bus during a given week. This year's school bus ridership count will take place October 2nd-October 6th. Counts are taken on the morning ride into school as well as the kindergarten midday ride into school.
If your child typically rides the bus to school, please make an extra effort to ensure that they do so during the week of October 2nd - October 6th so our numbers accurately reflect our transportation needs. Thank you!
Reporting Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying Incidences
In an ongoing effort to provide a safe learning environment, Sycamore is requesting parents, students, and staff to inform administration (or whoever) of any perceived incidences of harassment, intimidation, or bullying.
Per the Sycamore Board of Education policy JFCF, harassment, intimidation, and bullying are defined as any provoked and intentional written, verbal, electronic or physical act that a student has exhibited toward another particular student more than once and the behavior both:
causes mental or physical harm to the other student; and
is sufficiently severe, persistent, or pervasive that it creates an intimidating, threatening, or abusive educational environment for the other student.
To view the complete policy, visit www.sycamoreschools.org, under the Board of Education tab, scroll down to “Policies”, search for policy “JFCF”.
Sycamore will do everything possible to address any complaints of harassment, intimidation, and bullying. We encourage students, staff, parents, and community members to report this type of behavior to the district if help is needed to solve a problem.
To report an incident of harassment, intimidation, and bullying,
Go to the website, www.sycamoreschools.org
Under the tab “Forms”, scroll down until you see the Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying Incident Reporting Form for the individual schools.
Fill the form on-line and submit it electronically.
Hard copies of this form are available in each of the schools.
Complete the hard copy of the report form and turn it into the building principal.
The building principal or designee will promptly investigate all reported incidences.
It is difficult to investigate reported incidences that are anonymously submitted. However, every effort will be made to maintain the confidentiality of the reporter. Deliberate false reporting of harassment, intimidation, and bullying is prohibited.

Haunted Fest Volunteers needed!
Haunted Festival is an annual family friendly, community welcome, night of fun at Blue Ash Elementary. Activities can be found in the gym, kindergarten wing, art room, library, UC Blue Ash Wing, on the stage, and in the cafeteria. Many volunteers will be needed to set up, run games, activities, and tables during Haunted Fest AND clean up! This event is the PTO's largest family fun night of the year. We are asking you to support the Haunted Festival because the monies raised go directly to the school. We simply ask that you work one shift such as running a game or selling food. This is a wonderful opportunity for grandparents, aunts, uncles, former students, older students who may need volunteer service hours, as well as volunteer service organizations to help make this festival a fun night for everyone.
This year we especially need volunteers on our blow up slide!
