NEW! Indiana State University Gongaware Scholarship
2021-2022 Gongaware Scholarship Information:
- $9,000 per year
- Additional $3,000 professional development account to be utilized over the four years
- Up to four awards available
- Renewable for up to three additional years
- Open to Indiana and out-of-state residents
- Not open to international, online-only, or returning ISU students
- Admission deadline: December 1
- Requirements (listed below) must be satisfied by December 1.
- Scholarship application must be submitted by December 15. Application opens October 1.
- To be awarded this scholarship, students must be entering ISU fall semester.
The Gongaware Scholarship is for students planning to major in financial services or insurance and risk management.
To be eligible to apply, students must be admitted as an incoming freshmen to Indiana State University. Qualified students must possess two of the following three criteria:
- A cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
- An 1140 SAT (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and Math) or 23 ACT
- Ranking in the top 15% of their senior class

ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for this award, applicants must:
- demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship;
- demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent);
- be citizens of the United States of America;
- be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States (students living on U.S. Armed Forces base and homeschooled students are also eligible); and
- plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.

The Foot Locker Scholar Athletes program honors student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional academic ability and strong leadership skills in sports, in their schools, and within their communities.
Whether you're the lead scorer or the most spirited team player, we want to hear how you have taken the skills you've cultivated in the locker room and used to them create a powerful, positive impact on the lives of others around you.
JUDGING CRITERIA
Judges will evaluate each of the fully completed scholarship applications on a points system based on, among other factors:
Embody good sportsmanship and strong moral character. Foot Locker Scholar Athletes are trusted and respected members of their schools and communities. They have built strong relationships with and will leave a lasting impact on other students, administrators, and community members.
Display academic excellence. Foot Locker Scholar Athletes are intellectually curious, set high academic goals for themselves, and excel in their studies.
Are passionate and committed to empowering the community in which they live. Foot Locker Scholar Athletes have made a significant commitment to improving the lives of others.
Are confident and enthusiastic about being a leader. Foot Locker Scholar Athletes aren’t reluctant role models. They are confident, honest, and passionate leaders who take on challenges for the greater good.

ELIGIBILITY
In order to be eligible for the Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program, the applicant must:
Be entering college in the Fall of 2021 as a Freshman at an accredited four-year institution for an undergraduate degree;
Be currently involved in high school sports, intramural sports, or community based sports.
Have a minimum GPA of 3.0;
Be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident (you will be asked to prove citizenship and age if you win);
Not be an employee, officer or director of Foot Locker, Inc., or any of its subsidiaries, or a member of the immediate family of such an employee, officer or director.

NEW! 2021 EngineerGirl Writing Contest
The COVID-19 pandemic profoundly changed how we work, learn, and play. Making these changes were – and continue to be – an immense challenge.
Fortunately, this is the kind of challenge that engineers are made for.
Since COVID-19 began raging across the globe, engineers have been working with public health officials, medical workers, business owners, and research scientists to implement solutions to problems posed by the pandemic. They have contributed essential insights and expertise to address issues like:
- protecting essential workers in different environments
- helping people work from home
- retooling factories to make medical or protective equipment
- mass producing and distributing medicines and vaccines
- maintaining supply chains when businesses are closed
- making schools safer for students and their families
- helping people stay connected
The 2021 EngineerGirl Writing Contest invites you to submit a piece of writing that salutes engineering’s role in meeting and defeating the challenges presented by COVID-19.

To Enter the Contest
You should submit a piece of writing that salutes engineering’s role in meeting and defeating the challenges presented by COVID-19. Your submission must also follow the specific guidelines and limits for your competition category – based on your grade level.
Elementary School (grades 3-5)
Write a letter to the editor of a local paper or community website that pays tribute to the contributions of engineers responding to the pandemic. You may include an original artwork or graphic along with your letter. Limit: 600 words.
Middle School (grades 6-8)
Write a news story or blog post that illustrates the contribution of engineers in responding to the pandemic. You may include one original image or graphic and up to five references in an annotated bibliography that will help support your story. Limit: 650 words.
High School (grades 9-12)
Write an essay that examines the vital contribution of engineers in responding to the pandemic. You must include at least 3, but no more than 10 references in an annotated bibliography to support your essay. You may also include one image or graphic that will help the reader understand your ideas. Limit: 700 words.

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards (Open to Grades 5-12)
Are you a middle level or high school student making a difference through volunteering? Apply today for national recognition, a scholarship and an invitation to the program's national recognition events!
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards honors students in grades 5-12 for making meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service.
Applications are now open for 2021 awards. Here's how it works:
- By November 10, 2020, students must submit their completed applications, and signed student/parent agreements, to a certifier. (Certifiers can be school principals or the head of a county 4-H organization, Girl Scout council, American Red Cross chapter, YMCA or a Points of Light Global Network member.)
- By November 20, 2020, certifiers select and certify top applicants for state level judging.
- On February 9, 2021, The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards announces state-level winners for 2021.

Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Program
- The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2021 competition.
- Male and female students compete separately.
Ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university.
The Chicago office of the Elks National Foundation will announce the 500 national winners in late April, 2021. (Many local Lodges, districts and state Elks associations award their own scholarships through this program. These scholarships are not to be confused with the 500 Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarships.)
Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.
- Current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply.
- Applicants do not need to be related to a member of the Elks.
- High school graduates are not eligible to apply.
- Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are submitted; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.
The 20 Top Finalists traditionally participate in an all expenses paid Leadership Weekend in Chicago during which they’ll interview with the national judges. These 20 Finalists will be vying for two first-place awards of $50,000; two second-place awards of $40,000; and two third-place awards of $30,000. The remaining 14 finalists will receive awards of $20,000. The 480 runners-up will receive fifth-place scholarships of $4,000.

Burger King Scholars Program
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
BURGER KING® General Track - Available to all high school seniors who meet the criteria below.
Note: Employees, spouses or domestic partners of employees, and dependent children of employees who meet eligibility requirements for the General and Employee-Based Track will be considered for an award in both tracks, but if selected, will receive only one award.

- Be living in the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico
- Be graduating high school seniors (U.S. and Puerto Rico), graduating from grade 12 (Canada) or graduating from home school education in the U.S., Puerto Rico or Canada

BBB Students of Integrity Scholarship
BBB's Charitable and Educational Foundation (BBB C&E) will again award multiple $2,000 scholarships to area students who personify integrity and exhibit exemplary character as part of its 2021 Students of Integrity Scholarship program. To date, BBB C&E has awarded more than $125,000 in scholarships to deserving students. We invite students to apply for the 2021 scholarships.
Check requirements before you choose the scholarship below. Students are eligible to apply for ONE scholarship. Duplicate entries will be disqualified.
CRITERIA:
ALL APPLICANTS: must be a legal resident of Indiana and graduating in Spring 2021 from a high school in Indiana
• Accredited Business - HS to College or Trade (1): must be a high school student graduating in spring 2021 attending a two or four year college or entering trade school; must ALSO be an employee, family member or mentee of an employee at a BBB Accredited Business in Northern Indiana (available list at BBB.org)
• General High School Scholarship (1): must be a high school student graduating in spring 2021 living and attending a high school in one of BBB's 23 county service area (Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, Dekalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Lake, LaPorte, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Porter, Steuben, St. Joseph, Wabash, Wells, Whitley)

Ron Brown Scholarship Program
RON BROWN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY:
The Ron Brown Scholarship honors the legacy of Ronald H. Brown through a selective scholarship program that advances higher education for community-minded and intellectually gifted African Americans. RBSP competitively awards Ron Brown Scholars four-year $40,000 scholarships ($10,000 each year) to the most talented and economically-challenged high school seniors who demonstrate a keen interest in public service, community engagement, business entrepreneurship and global citizenship – the four pillars of the late Ronald H. Brown’s mission to uplift people of all races, cultures and ethnicities – especially our disadvantaged youth.
Recipients may use the renewable scholarships to attend an accredited four-year college or university of their choice within the United States. Ron Brown scholarships are not limited to any specific field or career objective and may be used to pursue any academic discipline. Since the Program’s inception in 1996, more than 300 students have been designated as Ron Brown Scholars.
Applicants for the Ron Brown Scholarship MUST be graduating high school seniors at the time of their application.
Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for the Ron Brown Scholar Program provided you meet the following requirements:
- Must be Black/African American.
- Must excel academically.
- Must exhibit exceptional leadership potential.
- Must participate in community service activities.

APIA Scholarship
Live at or below the poverty level, or are otherwise of low socioeconomic status;
Are the first in their families to attend college;
Are representative of the APIA community’s diversity, (geographically and ethnically}, especially those ethnicities that have been underrepresented on college campuses due to limited access and opportunity; and
Have placed a strong emphasis on community service and leadership as well as solid academic achievement. While APIA Scholars has a special focus on those who fall under the categories above, our scholars come from a wide variety of backgrounds, socioeconomic statues, and APIA ethnicities.
The minimum eligibility for the APIA Scholarship is as follows: Be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census
Be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States. Citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau are also eligible to apply
Be enrolling as an undergraduate student in a U.S. accredited college or university in the Fall of 2020
Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) or have earned a GED Must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Must have one letter of recommendation submitted online by a recommender Scholarships range in amount from $2,500 to $20,000, with some being one-time awards and others being multi-year awards.

Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
- Must be an Indiana resident;
- Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen;
- Must be a current high school senior or college student in Indiana;
- Must have graduated or will graduate from an Indiana accredited high school or non-accredited nonpublic high school;
- Must be able to utilize the scholarship for at least two full academic years;
- Must rank in the top 20% of high school graduating class or have a top 20% ACT or SAT score;
- Must currently attend or plan to attend an eligible Indiana institution as a full-time student;
- In some cases, degree-seeking students may use the scholarship during the summer while enrolled part-time. Refer to the specific guidelines for using the scholarship during summer terms.
- Must pursue or intend to pursue a course of study that would enable the student to teach at an eligible Indiana school after college graduation;
- Must obtain a license to teach in Indiana and serve as a teacher in an eligible Indiana school for five consecutive years after college graduation;
- Must maintain a 3.0/4.0 GPA, complete 30 credit hours per year or their equivalent and meet all other requirements established by their program to renew the scholarship;
- Must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year;
- Must not be in overpayment or default on a federal student loan or grant; and
- Must complete the service requirement or have all funds provided converted to a loan that must be repaid.
**Priority will be given to students graduating high school although current college freshmen and sophomore students are eligible to apply.

The 2021-2022 application will be available in ScholarTrack beginning October 1, 2020 and will close on January 31, 2021.

Students can use Official SAT® Practice on Khan Academy® to prepare for the SAT by practicing for six or more hours. Remind your students to:• Create a Khan Academy account on satpractice.org and link their College Board and Khan Academy accounts.
