Ellen Hopkins
What would you do if you were a troubled teen?
Ellen Hopkins
Imagine being tempted to do things that make you question. Ellen Hopkins is an author that can beautifully blend teen troubles with an exciting twist that will always leave you needing more. He books are in a poem format so they are a speed read. I always need to have a book of hers in my hands.
Ellen Hopkins was born March 26, 1955. She was adopted at birth by an older couple. Growing up in Palm Springs, CA, She was writing since she knew how to put words on paper. She has a daughter named Cristal, But she got divorced while her daughter was still in diapers. Surprisingly The story behind her book Crank is actually true. She adopted her son Hunter!
Ellen Hopkins writes in poem form so her books are very easy to read. She writes mostly about teen problems. Even though her books look incredibly intimidating they are still easy to read. Her books average about 600 pages each but one page takes about 15 seconds to read. My favorite book by the author is called Burned. I read through this book in about 3 hours. I LOVED it.
Theses books ARe not a great influence to anybody. They are mostly about bad decisions. I think the author is trying to teach the people that read her books about bad decisions and the outcomes of the decisions. She is great at discretely havign a moral to every story. I appreciate this about the author. She is my,hands down, favorite author.
