What it was
Freedom Riders were civil rights activist who rode interstate buses into segregated Southern states, to challenge the lack of enforcement of the United States Supreme Court.
how it's connected to civil rights movement
It was one of many civil rights protest against Segregation. This protest was mainly focused on interstate bus travel segregation.
What was Successful
At the time it was not considered a win it fueled the 1961 freedom rides the fueled the U.S. civil rights movement.
What problems accurred
The buses were attacked many times when traveling through the Southern States. Many people were injured but they never gave up hope.
How can this be connected today
This can be connected to today because there is no more segregation anywhere.
Personal reaction
My reaction to this is that it was a great thing that they did even though it may not be considered a success it was still a really good thing for the civil rights movement.
