Three Things to Know
Upcoming Early Release Day & No School
In coordination with the end of the 3rd academic quarter, the district will have our final early release of the school year on March 21. As a reminder, East students will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m.
Students will also not have school the following day, March 22, as Midview Local Schools will be closed for a professional development day.
State Testing
In one short month, East students will begin state testing. According to the Ohio Department of Education, state achievement tests gauge how well students are growing in the knowledge and skills outlined in Ohio’s Learning Standards.
- Grades 5 & 6 ELA testing: April 16 & April 17
- Grade 5 Science testing: April 23 & April 24
- Grade 5 & 6 Math testing: April 30 & May 1
Spring Break
Midview Local Schools will be closed for Spring Break on March 29-April 5 and Eclipse Day on April 8. Students will return to school on Tuesday, April 9. As this is our last newsletter prior to the break, we would like to wish families a safe and enjoyable time together!

March 15 & 16 | Spring Musical
There are still two opportunities to see our talented MHS drama students bring the Peanuts comics to life during our spring musical, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown! Shows will run this evening and tomorrow evening from 7-9 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase HERE.

April 19 | Harlem Wizards Night | 6:30 p.m. in the MHS K-Gym
The world-famous Harlem Wizards are returning to Midview to take on our staff! Don’t miss this action-packed night of basketball, comedy, and high-flying antics. April 25 | Elementary STEM Night
All K-6 families are invited to enjoy an exciting night of STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) exploration on April 25 from 5:30-7 p.m. at East Intermediate! Save the date and stay tuned for more information following Spring Break.
Midview Special Olympics T-Shirt Fundraiser
Support Midview Special Olympics by purchasing a t-shirt ($15) or a hoodie sweatshirt ($27)! If you would like to make a monetary donation, please send it to Kara Kaiser at Midview West. All proceeds support the Midview Schools Special Olympics! All orders must be placed ONLINE here.
Middle School Cheerleading Tryout Meeting
Any 6th grader interested in trying out for cheerleading is invited to attend an informational meeting on March 26 at 6:30 pm in the high school APR. A parent will need to attend as well. If your student is interested, please complete the interest form here.
Support Youth Art Month
To help show support of our Middie artists, the art department is hosting a Chipotle fundraiser for Youth Art Month this Saturday, March 16 in North Ridgeville. All funds raised will go to the ARTastic Scholarship Fund. Thank you for your support!

Art Award
Congratulations to Gabi Cooper who took 1st place in her age group at the Northeast Region Ohio Art Education Association Youth Art Month Exhibit. She was 1 of only 119 students that had artwork displayed.

Congrats to Baron Carr for being the East finalist in the Middie Chef competition.
Pizza Party
Mrs. Moore's class won the 5th grade pizza party from the Marco's fundraiser night.
Lost & Found
Please have your child check the lost and found before they leave for spring break. Any item not claimed will be donated at that time.
Math Competition
Congrats to all of our students who participated in the Greater Cleveland Council of Teachers of Mathematics 6-7-8 grade Problem Solving Contest on Saturday, March 2. Students have been practicing for the competition since January. They competed in four timed rounds: 6 places to start, Mental Math, Hurdles, and the Pile. After the competition, students enjoyed donuts and juice and an awards ceremony. Everyone did a great job representing Midview and we are so proud of their efforts!
