About the Ebola Diseases
Ebola diseases are related viruses that cause hemorrhagic fevers illnesses marked by serve bleeding, organ failure and, in many cases, death. Ebola was first identified in 1976 in the Democratic republic of Congo and named for a river that flows through that African nation.
Origin of Ebola deseases
decades after its identification, researchers continue to search for the natural reservoir, or origin of the Ebola virus. the virus probably resides in the rain forest of Africa and Asia. Scientist think that the virus is animal borne and that it is passed to primates( monkeys and apes) and human by another animal.
Signs of infection
in the few days after infection with Ebola virus, causes headache, fever, muscle aches. the deseases rapidly progresses to more serious symtoms such as rash, chest pain, severe bloody vomiting and diarrhea, uncontrolled internal bleeding, kidny and liver failure, and shock.
4 types of Ebola deseases
Ebola virus has four subtypes, each named for the location in which it was discovered; Ebola-Zaire, Ebola-Sudan, Ebola-Ivory Coast, and Ebola-Reston. the Ebola-Reston virus, first detected in the United States in 1989, was discovered in sick monkeys imported from the Philippines to a research laboratory in Reston, Virginia.
how to protect Ebola deseases
there is no medication to treat or cure Ebola infection. patients with Ebola fever are hospitalized and receive supportive care t5o treat symptoms. we know that Ebola deseases can spread through direct contact with infected blood, especially on contaminated needles. so doctors wear globes, gaggles, and masks during support infected peeson. the unsterilized needles also accelerated infection speed.
effect to population of gorilla
in 2002 april, WHO found dead gorilla that has Ebola deseases in Africa. from then to 2005 about 5500 gorillas died by Ebola deseases. also around there people eating gorilla or monky meat, so many people infected from the Gorilla and Monky meat.
