Park Terrace Elementary
March 10, 2021 Newsletter
Greetings Park Terrace Families!
Spring Break is nearly here and it sure does feel like it! I hope everyone has had the chance to enjoy the lovely weather the past couple of days. It is amazing to see the students here at Park Terrace enjoy being outside so much and soaking up all the amazing sunshine. As a reminder, there will be no school Friday, March 12 through Monday, March 22. Students will resume learning on Tuesday, March 23.
We are looking forward to welcoming some of our students back into the building after Spring Break. Yesterday was picture retake day and one student who came into Park Terrace said “Wow, I haven’t been here in like 50 years!” The exaggeration was adorable and the comment hilarious, but it was a great reminder that for many of our students coming in this will be their first time being back in our school for over a year and, for some kindergarten students, the first time ever at Park Terrace! Ultimately, I hope the transition for each student, whether to in-person learning or to distance learning, is a smooth one and they have a great experience with their new teacher! Our teachers are still working out classroom placement for the incoming students, but you should hear from your student’s new teacher by the end of the week.
Regardless of what your plans are over Spring Break, I hope everyone has a relaxing and enjoyable time. Please continue to follow health and safety guidelines wherever you are to ensure our students and staff can have a safe return to school. Have a safe and restful week and we cannot wait to see you on Tuesday, March 23!

Updates for Extended Flex Learning Families
Greetings,
We have reached another mile marker in this crazy COVID-19 driven year. Next week is spring break! We are also wrapping up trimester 2 and moving into trimester 3. There is no school for students Friday, March 12 through Monday, March 22. Have a safe and healthy week.
If your family requested a change from Extended Flexible Learning to learning at school full-time, you should receive confirmation of changes before spring break begins Friday, March 12. Please note, any change request will impact your student’s teacher and the class roster. Change requests will impact both at-school and distancing learning classrooms and teachers. If you have questions, please reach out to the school your child will be attending.
We look forward to seeing you back on Tuesday, March 23.
Take care,
Kimberly Fehringer

Importance of safe mask wearing
Face mask tips from Becca Williams, SLP Lead Health Nurse
- Face masks/coverings should comfortably cover the nose, mouth and chin
- There should be no gaps on the sides of the face mask
- Face masks should stay in place without needing to be adjusted frequently
- As we head into muddy Minnesota spring, it is a good idea to pack an extra face mask
For more information on how to properly wear a mask, check out this helpful one-page document.
