NEWS FROM THE MUSTANG CAFE
We have several field trips coming up in October. Please see the list below regarding dates I need to have your sack lunch counts.
3rd Grade – Friday Sept. 14th
5th Grade – Friday Sept. 14th
Kindergarten – Friday Oct. 5th
2nd Grade – Monday Oct. 15th
All sack lunches will include a PB&J w/a cheese stick, goldfish, celery & carrots, an applesauce cup and a milk (if they want it). If you have a peanut allergy let me know & we’ll make something different for those students.
Because of ordering deadlines & deliveries, it’s really important that I have your orders by the above dates. Please know that you’re never “locked in” to the numbers one way or the other, but I need to have a good idea about what to expect so that we’re prepared. Thanks so much to you all for all you do for us each day! You can’t imagine how much the numbers you send us daily help us be as efficient as possible, so that you & your students have the time you need for lunch each day. Love to you all from the café! Technology Tidbits
I learned quite a bit at the technology training. I know there was quite a bit of information but I hope something caught your eye. Here are my top 5 takeaways:
- The voice typing in google docs was amazing to me. This is feature is located in tools in the google docs. What at great way to encourage the kids to be storytellers even if their writing doesn't keep up with their thoughts. Also Read Write Google! These features will be helpful with the kiddos. Mrs. Murphy and I are going to intro these features to her students next week.
- This brain dump template was a great way to encourage brainstorming. Ms. Plante has already tried it in the classroom!! Brain Dump Template
- Wixie-I needed the refresher of the different features and templates in Wixie. I loved the feature of publishing to the media center catalog. Ms. Clanton and I are working with her class in Wixie next week. Publish Wixie eBooks in Destiny
- Just2Easy looked like a great addition to primary grades classroom activities. I haven't played with it much so I'd love to come in a class and try it out. Any volunteers...send me an email!
- And...last but not least...Google Integration w/itslearning Assignment This new feature in Itslearning makes assigning and grading within Itslearning so simple. Send me an email if you want me to come help you with this feature!
Itslearning...I know you've heard it but it is a county and of course school expectation that it is being used. The planner must be updated weekly. If you have any questions or want me to help you update the planner let me know. I LOVE snow...I will be the one putting a spoon under the pillow and sleeping with my PJs inside out as they are predicting snow. (It works!) My birthday is in February and I can't tell you exactly what I wish when I blow out my candles but it includes lots of white fluffy stuff. That being said...the more you use the planner and activity features in ItsLearning the more comfortable your students (and you) will be when any weather situation keeps us at home. I'm here to help!
HELP NEEDED....PLEASE SEE TASKS BELOW THAT REQUIRE ACTION THIS WEEK.
Please revisit the Sign Up Genius to find opportunities to read with our Kindergarten kiddos.
Moments of Mustang Might
Each week we want to highlight staff members who demonstrate the 7 Habits qualities.
When people make an impact on you, please share the moment so we can celebrate each other. Email Daphne or Ashley by Friday at lunch time each week to highlight our teammates.
