Remembrance Day
Saturday 11 November is Remembrance Day. It is a day set aside to remember and pray for people who have fought for peace and freedom. As we honour their courage and cherish their memory we pray for justice for all people and harmony among nations. Thank you to 5C for presenting a respectful, moving Remembrance Day service.
Annual School Community Meeting
The School Advisory Council and P&F presented their annual reports yesterday at the Annual School Community Meeting.
Thank you very much to retiring member, Caron Reynolds for her outstanding service as part of the School Advisory Council. There are two vacancies for the School Advisory Council for 2024. I appreciate the willingness of parents to give service to the school and community. One nomination was received from Leah Pearson, who was accepted as a member of the School Advisory Council. After several years of dedicated service as P&F Chair, Leah is generously accepting another role in support of the school.
As per the P&F Terms of Reference, all positions are re-nominated annually. Our current executive group are finishing their term and are stepping down from their roles. Heartfelt thanks to Leah Pearson - P&F Chair, Louise Robinson - Deputy Chair, Loren Kirby - Treasurer, Jenn Coltton – Secretary. Thanks, also to Honor, Lana and Nikki for committee support. I know you will agree that these ladies have done an exceptional job in fund-raising and friend-raising, enabling many projects that have enhanced school life.
There have not been any nominations for P&F positions for 2024 as yet. This is a wonderful way to be involved in school life, supporting the education of your children. Please consider taking on this valuable service for the school to continue the work of previous executive groups. Please pop in or email the school office if you would like to discuss volunteer opportunities. Your children will value your input, and what a great way to model service to the community to your children.

Art Incursion
Special thanks to the P&F for funding Art workshops recently. Incredible artwork was created, facilitated by specialist art teacher, Kate Driscoll, Art Teacher Life. The students in Years 4-6 created jelly prints, and under Kate's guidance, participated in the creating of these amazing collage designs. The results are outstanding.
School Activities
This has been a very busy term so far, with activities and events including Confirmation, Interschool Sports Carnival, World Teachers Day, Grandparents Day, Art Incursions, and Remembrance Day. Special thanks to all our wonderful staff for their extra effort to organise these activities as part of a well-rounded education for our students. Lots more to come in the coming weeks, too, including a Pupil Free Day tomorrow, and the K-2 Dance Concert on Friday 17 November.
Wishing you a wonderful week.
May God bless you.

Christmas Concert
Dear Parents
The Christmas Concert, this year on Wed Nov 29 in Week 8, is a funny nativity play called 'Straw and Order' and will include classes PP-Y5. Each year group will have a few students acting but the whole year group will have a song to sing, so all will be involved. Y6 will lead us in a Christmas Medley at the end.
There are basic costumes required for each year group. There are pictures here for suggestions but as long as they resemble a cow, sheep, donkey or whatever they are, that's fine. Actors; such as Mary, Joseph, Wise Men, we have costumes at school.
Each year group requires the following costumes:
PP: Shepherds or angels (they can choose)
Y1: Shepherds or angels (they can choose)
Y2: Sheep
Y3: Traditional town people
Y4: Traditional town people
Y5J: Donkeys
Y5C: Cows
Y6: Christmas colours with runners.
Sheep: Plain white or black T shirt and shorts with headband with ears (cotton wool on ears only, too messy on t shirts.. it goes everywhere!)
Donkey: Grey T shirt and shorts with headband with donkey ears.
Cows: White t shirt and shorts with black cut outs on it and headband with cow ears.
For all animals wear school shoes or runners please.
Town people: Old pillowcase; cut outs for head and arms and rope or scrap of material for waist and old tea towel for head with rope or scrap of material to keep on head. Footwear is school sandals or school shoes/runners if no sandals. Perhaps a vest or old dressing gown over the top but we can plan on it being hot!
Any questions to jane.king@cewa.edu.au
Thanks so much for your support 😊

Please look out for the labelled boxes in the following areas in the next few weeks and give generously to support others in what can be a difficult time of the year. Thank you.

Year 6 Graduation
Preparations are well under way for our Year 6 students to graduate from Primary School at the end of the year on Friday the 8th December. Our day of celebrations begins with a 9.00am liturgy and award ceremony at the church, followed by a morning tea back at school. At midday the entire school will gather in the hall to say a special farewell. Special thanks to our Year 5 P&F Reps who are coordinating the Year 5 parent body to cater for the special Graduation Morning Tea for the Year 6’s and their guests.
