ILLSTYLE & PEACE ASSEMBLY We are excited to announce that during the school day on Tuesday, April 9th the Home & School Association will be sponsoring a cultural assembly featuring the dancers from Illstyle and Peace. With incredible energy and personalities to match, the dancers of Illstyle & Peace demonstrate that by perseverance and focus, you can reach your highest goals. Tracing hip hop dance styles from the late 70’s through today, this acclaimed ensemble teaches positive messages, including “Think It—Do It—Become It.” Become Your Dreams celebrates the art and movement of hip hop and includes a funky blend of locking, breaking, popping, tap and house dancing, vocal percussions, D.J.ing, and modern and traditional dance forms. An emphasis is placed on the similarity of some hip hop moves to those found in ballet, modern and traditional dance forms. In this show students also get to come on stage and share their own creative dance moves! OUR NEXT MEETING Please join us for our next meeting Thursday, April 11th, 2024 at 7 pm in the school library. LIGHT IT UP BLUE FOR AUTISM
Every April World Autism Month is celebrated. It began with the United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day on April 2. This year marks the 17th annual World Autism Awareness Day. As an ohana, we have many members who are autistic. We like to come together to celebrate them this month. It would be nice to light a blue light outside your house. On April 2nd and April 30th we will have Blue Day where we will all join together to wear blue to celebrate our ohana members with autism, as well as those throughout the world.
YOUTH ART MONTH 2024
The theme this year: Dream in Art!
Youth Art Month started in 1961 through The Art & Creative Materials Institute, Inc. (ACMI). Youth Art Month exists to:
"Recognize art education as a viable factor in the total education curriculum that develops citizens of a global society. Recognize art is necessary for the full development of a better quality of life for all."
Celebrate your dreams with art!
If you have not signed in to Artsonia yet- Please use the school QR code. You will be so pleasantly surprised to see your students work!!
FRIDAY SCIENTISTS
This week in Friday Scientist, a boy in Mrs. Seagrave's room made an ocean in a bottle. He did this by mixing oil, water, and blue food dye. When he shook it, it looked like and ocean rolling like ocean waves. He even added 2 ducks into the solution to show how they would float on the waves.
In Mrs. Regh's class, a boy showed how a person can fill a plastic bag eith water, seal it and stick sharp pencils through the the water and not have it leak.
A boy in Mrs. Calvanese's room made a fan with just a box, elastic, jar lid, 3 corks and a stick.
RECYCLING INK CARTRIDGES
The Kindergarten and 1st grade Girl Scouts are doing a recycling project and want to recycle your empty printer ink cartridges. A collection box will be located inside Mulready Elementary School from December to March. Their goal is to keep 200 cartridges from decaying and leaking toxins in landfills, thank you for helping them with their goal.
ABSENTEE LINE/TARDIES
Just a reminder - please be sure to call your child out when they will not be in school. (978) 567-6170. You can leave a message on the absentee line. Also, if your child enters the building late, after 8:35 am, he/she should have a parent with them to sign them in. Thank you!
LABEL LUNCH BOXES AND CLOTHING
Please label your child's belongings. That way we can be sure that the items get back to their owners.
Also, if your child is missing clothing or a backpack or lunchbox, feel free to stop by and check out our tables.
