Lenten Prayer
God of infinite love,
Thank you for your constant reminder of your love and your call that we be more patient, gentle and compassionate with others.
Here in the middle of Lent, we turn to you to ask for your help.
Please soften ours heart. Help us to let go of judging others.
We ask you this, in Jesus' name. Amen.
From the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are fast approaching the end of term and I just hope that as a school we can manage to remain relatively untouched by Covid. We should receive our air purifiers next week for the 3 classes that require them.
Please note, that if a year level has a positive case identified in the class, families are required to have their child tested within 24 hours and the result entered on the self reporting portal. If families choose upon notification to RAT test their child and return them straight back to class, the child will still be required to perform a second RAT test prior to entering the school grounds the next day. This is because the student will have gone back into class with children who have not been tested and may be positive.
The best option is to collect your child at the end of the school day when notified, test after school and if negative, the child comes to school the next day and hence they will only require the one RAT test.
There will be a number of changes next term to Covid protocols for St Columba’s please note:
- Students who are close contacts other than direct household contacts will continue to attend school under Dept of Health quarantine rules
- There will still be no whole school assemblies as only year level gatherings are allowed
- Parents/Carers will be allowed back on school grounds at drop off and pick up time to collect students
- Parents and Carers are not able to congregate on school grounds, must wear masks, must social distance and are not able to enter classrooms
- The staggered drop off times will cease and Kiss and Drive will start at 8:30 to 8:50am in the mornings and at 3:05 to 3:30pm in the afternoons
- Student interschool outdoors activities will take place
- P&F meetings can be onsite face to face with limited numbers
- School Advisory council meetings can occur onsite and face to face with social distancing
- Families will still be required to self report in the self reporting portal.
This week have had only PPW report a Covid positive case.
God Bless and keep safe.

P&F News
Hi Everyone,
THANK YOU to those that purchased hot cross buns, we had a great response. I will be picking these up Monday for distribution to the classes (my car is going to smell amazing). Your children will be taking them home with them.
The P&F committee met on Tuesday night (virtually) for our second meeting for the year. We are very pleased to announce that thanks to the generosity of all of you, the P&F has purchased new robotics equipment for the school. We will also be purchasing a new table tennis table, rackets and handballs for the children to utilise as well as upgrades to the year 5 seating arrangements to make them more modern, flexible and ergonomic. This is only the start of what the P&F makes possible, so watch this space to see what other exciting things are going on. Your class representatives will be providing more feedback on this.
We are about to launch a Mothers Day Raffle with a fantastic first prize. Only limited tickets will be made available, so you don’t want to miss out. More information will be coming out shortly.
I have attached a copy of the minutes from meeting 1 for those that are interested. Our next meeting will be held in May.
Thanks everyone, have a lovely rest of your week.

Pastoral Care Group
The St. Columba’s Pastoral Care Group has been running for over 6 years and aims to provide caring support within our school community. It provides confidential, appropriate and timely assistance for families in their time of need.
The Pastoral Care Group is able to provide:
1. Meal support to those in need. This will be achieved by providing fresh meals as required, made by volunteers within the school community.
2. Pick-ups/drop offs to and from school.
3. Canteen vouchers can be arranged to ease the burden of lunches, as well as frozen sandwiches, cakes and yoghurt.
This Christian example will allow our students to witness their parents serving and supporting others in our community.
The Pastoral Care Group has two points of contact:
1. School Office 6436 9500 admin@stcolumbassp.wa.edu.au
(Amy Venturini or Andrea Creek)
2. Jenny Collins (Year 4 parent) 0418 944 835 jennycollins3@gmail.com
Class Reps usually seek contact with the Pastoral Care Group when a need is identified.
A list is held of volunteers who are willing to assist with this confidential service.
When needed, volunteers are contacted by Jenny.
CALLING FOR VOLUNTEERS!
If you would like to volunteer to cook a meal or two throughout the year please contact Jenny or the School Office.
Your assistance would be much appreciated!
